Poor Duckie

Duckie tries really hard to do the right thing, she really does. But... she'a a ten year old kid. So she had swim last night and forgot her bag in the car overnight. Our temperature went down into the single digits last night. So she had a frozen towel, suit suit and her epipen twinpack.

She was absolutely beside herself this morning, and I didn't even yell at her or lecture. I pointed out that I had just picked up this twinpack from the phamacy 1.5 weeks ago, that it was going to cost $145 to replace it and I was very disappointed in her lack of personal responsibility in the matter.

I doubt she loses track of her epipen anytime soon.

Yup, she is just a 10yo kid. But the fact that she realized the significance of the consequences and didn't just shrug it off speaks volumes about her being much more easy child than difficult child!

I can easily imagine a lot of my 10 year old students forgetting something like that.

She won't forget again any time soon. Makes you feel bad for them when some lessons are learned this way. But they're the ones that stick.
