Wales is so incredibly beautiful. I too found it next to impossible to understand Welsh english but I enjoyed trying lol. I've always said my ultimate dream would be to retire to a rural seaside Welsh town. I felt somehow like I was where I was supposed to be when I was there, corny as it sounds, it was overwhelming. I've never felt so peaceful.
My cousin lives in London. She was out of town for the most part of the riot situation teaching a nursing type course but returned toward the tail end of things. I haven't heard she was near to the problem areas or affected. I know some friends of hers were told to not risk going to work 2 days in a row, as one of her friends was frightened when going down to the tube after work and large gangs of youth started some problems there. I haven't heard any more on the news so I assume things have settled.
I saw the story of the three young men run down too. I heard that they arrested I think 2 people? What a horrible situation for that family.
