My mom just looked at me funny at first, but then started laughing, too. She wasn't telling me anything I haven't already experienced. I can laugh when it happens to someone else. Especially the way my mom tells it. She doesn't have much patience with difficult child. And she always tells it like she's the only one who's experienced it.
