Sigh. husband forgets he's a new employee.

After working at his last employer for close to 20 years, husband was accustomed to having plenty of sick time, vacation time, personal days, etc. available so that it was never an issue if he wanted to take a day off here and there.

Last Friday he decided that he was too tired to go in and so he called in sick.

Well, turns out he didn't have enough sick time accrued yet to cover the whole day, so they are docking his pay to the tune of $500!

Live and learn, I guess. I just wish his learning experiences weren't so expensive.

Yeah, he did!

Then he just emailed me that he was able to change the time off to vacation instead of sick time -- apparently he had enough vacation to cover it, so there is no financial impact now! WHEW!

Lucky break this time. No doubt he'll think twice about staying home next time!
