Ya know, Witz, there's another "red flag". When I expressed my hesitation on Monday to surgeon, I asked "what other options do I have to alleviate this infection that has been lingering for months? Are there other antibiotics the could be tried?" and he said he wasn't in a position to give ideas as to alternative treatments at that time and place. Surgeon's already said he doesn't like too many people meddling with one patient. It will tick him off when I call him and tell him if he won't do it, someone else will. However, I can't see any acceptible reason to allow this to wait yet another week. I am off work to heal, and that's not going to happen so long as I am carrying infection around. My mom is here chasing difficult child so that I can rest. She can't stay another week come next Thursday. She's a wonderful woman, but she's pushing her physical limits now to help me. I just can't see how waiting makes sense. Yet I feel so...whiney for making a fuss about it. I feel guilty for standing up for myself, and I'm not sure why.
