Hard even for me to believe that some school district's will go this far. So much for student privacy.

I would go thru the roof!! This is more than a minor invasion of privacy and there are other ways to track the laptops.

Just....wow. I really hope criminal charges are pressed against them.

    I am stunned!
How about putting cameras in the hallways, stairwells, closets, under bleachers and in the buses of the school and let me worry about what goes on in my home!?!? After the things I hear that go on at school during the day and at sporting events, they need to monitor themselves and leave me and my family to our business.

    Unbelievable. :faint:

Why not just require that parents have insurance coverage, if there are concerns about loss or theft of school property?

The cost per year for insurance to cover a laptop is not unreasonable; not to mention, it is a lawful solution to the school district's concerns.
