I'd send you some chicken soup, but it's too darn hot.
Warmed up leftover lasagna felt pretty good on my throat. Hot chicken soup would be fine too, I'm sure! LOL
The Chinese version of "medicinal" chicken soup is made with lots of crushed garlic, ,copious amounts of grated fresh ginger, and a good handful of whole red pepper pods.
Not only do the spices have strong antiviral/antibacterial effects, but they will make you sweat and make your nose run, basically breaking up congestion in the head and chest.
I've used it made that way for colds and flu for years and years, and it really does work. If you have to have meat and noodles in it, poach a couple of chicken breasts or thighs in the broth and use those, and for noodles use rice noodles. Cook them seperately, put in the bowl and pour the hot broth over them.
