hey, Marg! You live in Australia and you've never been snorkeling????

I was thinking abouth this one - I never could get the hang of using a snorkel. However, I have done similar things, I would just hold my breath and dive down to have a look instead. Or use a glass box (or equivalent). I remember a surf mat I had as a kid, it had a clear window in it that I used to use when I was tired; I'd go into the shallows of the lagoon and just float around, looking at starfish & sea urchins. One beach I remember, thgere were many starfish all with different colours and patterns. I tried to collect samples of each but for some reason my mother wouldn't let me bring them home. Besides, the colours only really looked good when they were wet, so I put them in a rock pool and looked at them there.

The water is often too rough where we live, to snorkel well. At least for me. I'm not a strong swimmer, would you believe!
