WOW! Do you remember a while back when you were talking with father in law and told him about nephews drug problem and he was upset because he had been lied to? Methinks that MAYBE he has been putting pressure on mother in law to see the light of reality and stop trying to feed him, and live by, the rumors and lies she prefers. So now, when you are able to use common sense to help them, and then you are able to do what their idiot son cannot, and persevere even though he is idiot enough to try to mess up your work, your stock raised with father in law at least. father in law may have been content to let mother in law and her cobrooms do as they would until he had proof that they were lieing to him. That likely did NOT sit well, and he likely made that crystal clear to mother in law. So now that FIlL likes you, he has probably been pointing out good things you do/have done. mother in law may not have joined him in praise of you, but she likely knows not to go against him. It is the way that quite a few of the older people I know/have known run their marriages. Now that mother in law has had father in law explain your good ideas, accomplishments, etc... , she may be far more likely to recognize the good things you do and appreciate them. It IS a shocking change, so try to enjoy it while it lasts. At least father in law can see your worth. I would bet that if he has any idea how unhappy you are with husband and the way he doesn't do stuff around the house, father in law may make husband very aware of how it will hurt to have you leave him - esp as you will likely kick him out and they will lose access to your property and skills! Either way, GOOD JOB!! Kudos on finding and rescuing the calf - I am glad he was not harmed!
