The Southern Jokes

Well, maybe this has turned out to be a very good thing for all of us to have been exposed to. Maya Angelou says something about how we may change the world by becoming aware of, and changing, the words we use when we think ~ and with recognizing, and disallowing, any form of prejudice, whether in our homes among our families and friends, or in public.

Prejudice is prejudice. Whether it comes out in a racial or an economic fashion, it is still making fun of someone so we can feel better about who we are.

I read the thread. Initially, it was a mom expressing her frustration with what her son is choosing to do, instead of what he could be doing.

We have all felt that.

Janet, you were absolutely right to bring us back to our senses.

Not only for your sake, but for our own.
