Oh, and I got the number of the ombudsman. Not sure what else I can do at this point, iow, if an ombudsman would be worth it, because I did everything the ombudsman would have done.

I would call the ombudsman, even if you feel you have accomplished all you could with them. Someone else's mother or aunt may be saved grief because of it.

His response was fairly typical, as you're discovering.

Whether you choose to move P or not, definitely seek out a private physician for her. She will get better medical care and you will be spared future grief.

I think you are right. If it hadn't been for visiting angels, the wound wouldn't have been brought to anyone's attention. The facility staff is supposed to dress P every day but half the time, they don't do it. That's how S caught it--by changing P's socks.
Very few others have outside caregivers so I know that things go on way too long ... and then it's too late.
I will explain that to the ombudsman.
