We got sort of got good news. She made it through the night and the doctor was really quite shocked. Apparently he removed her entire small intestine and all arteries are terribly clogged. He said he only had one other patient live through this surgery. If she makes it through the next 72 he can put a stent in her aortic artery and then if she makes it through that, he can put her on a transplant list for her intestine. Fortunately, with the small intestine, she only will need several feet, rather than the entire thing and a small intestine can be split among several people, so there would be a good chance of getting a transplant. We'll see. There's still the chance of infection, pneumonia setting in, etc. Being that she lost 55 pounds in the last two months, because she hasn't been able to eat anything, her resistance is probably very low.
