We hadn't seen each other for 5 years and it was like it had just been last week. We promised it wouldn't be 5 years between visits again. She and her husband have been together for 20 years (since she was 14) and married for 14 years. I don't think I've ever seen a happier couple. They really are made for each other. I wish they could have stayed another day - only if we didn't have to do anymore shopping, though. My bff is an RN and she helped me with using my cane. At first, I was putting too much weight on that side and I injured my hand, so she showed me how to do it correctly. Now I have to wait for my hand to heal.

Saw my GP today for more shots - as noted above. If it's neurological will get a new neurologist since my current one said that since I went to 'elaborate measures' (i.e., putting my arm out to catch myself) when I fell over doing the heel to toe walking (fell over 3 times) that he doesn't think I have balance issues. Plus, my speech problems are getting worse and I'm not catching it like I used to. Also getting a referral to an orthopedic surgeon. She was joking about sending me to all these different specialists yet again and I said, "So, I won't tell you about the gnawing, burning pain in my stomach.
It is not R-O-L-A-I-D-S, I can tell you that. It is S-T-E-R-O-I-D I-N-J-E-C-T-I-O-N-S. 3 of them this time - both shoulders and right hip. The lidocaine is wonderful. Instant relief. Ahhhhhh! My visit with my bff and her hubby was wonderful. I overdid it of course, but we had a great time. :faint:  My bff is an RN and she helped me with using my cane. At first, I was putting too much weight on that side and I injured my hand, so she showed me how to do it correctly. Now I have to wait for my hand to heal. :slap: Saw my GP today for more shots - as noted above. Got a referral to an ENT for an ENG. Say that 10 times real fast. :winks: Balance issues are worse so this test is to determine if it's inner ear or neurological. If it's neurological will get a new neurologist since my current one said that since I went to 'elaborate measures' (i.e., putting my arm out to catch myself) when I fell over doing the heel to toe walking (fell over 3 times) that he doesn't think I have balance issues. :rolleye: Plus, my speech problems are getting worse and I'm not catching it like I used to. Also getting a referral to an orthopedic surgeon. She was joking about sending me to all these different specialists yet again and I said, "So, I won't tell you about the gnawing, burning pain in my stomach. That one can wait." NIH finally called them back this week and they never got my information. Surprise, surprise. Gotta love government stuff. So they faxed it to them today, but it will probably be another 6 weeks before I know anything. So, that's my update in a nutshell. I had a wonderful weekend. Good friends, good food, good weather. I've spent the last 2 days recuperating, but it was so worth it. OMG. And the spiedies were sooooooooooo good. I have plenty of leftovers.
