Wee had his first hiccup at school

this week. He got frustrated with learning soccer skills in gym and in the very last few moments, got angry. He pushed his para, but sped teacher made a big deal with everyone else to make it NOT a big deal, and he recovered in just a few minutes and went on with his day.

I can't tell you how thankful I am that sped teacher came back this year....

Yes, hiccups are 'good'!​

Of course, nobody out there in the "real" world would have any idea what WE mean by that!
But WE sure do. Hiccups and speed-bumps and left-curve-detours are all good - as long as we find a way forward.

This could be a valuable positive learning experience. He got angry, did the wrong thing, but it did not escalate and he was able to calm down. So he now knows, calming down from anger is possible. It can work.

Way to go, SpEd!
