Went pretty well today. His counselor told me that she thinks E has Asperger's or at the very least needs to be evaluated for it. I told her that he is already on the waiting list to see the dr in this area. I guess ... I knew in the back of my head and I've heard it before. but the older that he gets the more obvious it is. *sigh* My hubby is not handling this well...he's mostly mad that his child is getting so many labels....

Somebody on this board has a nice statement in their sig... I can't quote exactly but something to the effect that they don't care what labels get put on their kid as long as they get the help and resources they need.

For many DHs... the problem with these kinds of labels is ... what if THEY have it too?

With Aspies it does tend to become more obvious with age, because it's a social-deficit thing, and socializing becomes more complicated with age, it shows up more as social interactions get more complicated.
