Mother's Day plans? This can be our yearly upbeat thread for MD.

We're planning to go to the zoo for brunch and get pizza to bring for over to my mother in law.

Duckie says she's been cooking a few surprises in school for me.

I'm planning on being waited on hand a foot.......

It is possible that Dude will be helping me tear out a bathroom wall or three - so I'm happy about getting extra help.

I don't like flowers - unless they can be planted...but I have roses on my wild Irish roses that Dude got and planted for me 6 years ago. They are lovely.

Nice thread.....

Taking stepmom out for a GPS orienteering class she'd signed up for, but then realized it was mother's day and my dad was going to be heading up to see my granny. I'm taking his place, and gladly!

Probably hang out with Mom and do dinner, maybe a movie on Sunday. She was going to go see Sis at her boarding school, but has since decided against it, so I didn't pre-arrange anything.

If any of you live within easy driving distance of southern port cities, you might look into a short cruise for yourselves!! You should SEE the number of $99 - $159 fares for a 3-4 day cruise!

Flowers for the two mom's. They are both out of state.
I don't think we have plans. It's usually the boys making breakfast or taking me out to dinner and a card. No gifts required but honoring the day by doing what they should is all I ask.

Going through the photo archive, and finding childhood pics of mother in law to make a collage for her. She's 85, so the pictures (pre-WWII England and France) are simply stunning.

Baking a cake.

Spending the day with family.

If it's a nice day I will be planting some flowers outside. Kicking around. H will likely make me some breakfast and we'll have a nice dinner later when easy child gets home from work. I'm just hoping for a laid back sort of day. mother in law and my Mom both live far away so it's just us.

I will be going to a graduation party for a child not my own. I don't know if easy child will be doing anything major for me as she knows I am not a fan of the day. Bad things tend to happen on Mother's day so I have been known to stay in my room with no form of communication to the outer world. But this year I was invited to a grad party and I told her I would go. Otherwise probably avoiding things the rest of the day.

Oh and I will call my mom at some point.

We're having lunch with my mom; don't know what's going on with Hubby's mom. Miss KT is planning to make me a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. Buddy ordered a bracelet for me that says "woof", and I don't know what Hubby has planned.

Probably a nice breakfast served in pieces by the kids, you know, one carries coffee, one has toast, ect., followed by church. I'm hoping to suggest going to a racetrack for the afternoon. It has pony rides and face painting for the kids. We went a few times before and the kids loved it.

Taking my mom to a botanical garden for lunch and champagne. No husband. No kids. My gift to myself (and her).

I have no idea what my family has planned for me...

easy child will probably take me out my annual Mothers Day breakfast at The Pantry in downtown LA just he and I. Dan has already given me my card - apparently it was bothering him sitting on the desk in his room waiting for Sunday.

Don't know if I will hear from eldest - maybe a text message - but thats fine with me - I plan to spend the day just vegging out and going to the movies with SO

The 3 boys are going to 6 flags on Sunday. husband and I go boxing early, then we have reservations for a brunch at a casino, we also have a free room for Sunday night! I plan on getting into the bed with my book and a bottle of wine and relaxing. It will be a rare treat. We do have to get up early and go to work the next day though! We're going out to lunch as a family on Saturday.

I'm running in a race on Saturday, I've been training for this since August. Last year I came in 5th place, this year I'm aiming for 1st. Then I'll go out to lunch.-Alyssa

I am so glad I finally get to take part in a happy mothers day!!!:D It has been years.

Hugs to all of us for being our difficult children mom. We deserve a purple heart of sorts when it comes to being a mommy.

I'll be in S. Carolina with my daughter, sister in law, and brand new baby grandson on Mothers Day! With a new baby, I doubt they have any big plans made. He wasn't due till May 20th, but because he came three weeks early, she gets to celebrate her very first Mothers Day! :D

Donna, how lovely to get to spend mother's day with your new grandbaby, and to celebrate your daughter's first mother's day with her.

Hopefully the house will be quiet. I need new clothes - gave a ton away when I switched over to "summer" wardrobe, because almost nothing still fits - so maybe I'll con Mom into going shopping with me. I don't like to shop, but I do like to spend time with my Mom - and it does not have to be Mothers' Day.

husband will be asleep most of the day as he works Saturday night. difficult child 2 with BM till 6 PM, difficult child 1 hopefully at a friend's. I just wanna do whatever. Means laundry might not get done if not finished Saturday. Too bad.
