Jenn, I'm curious why the school district won't accept your son's diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). If he has been diagnosed with that three times, what more are they looking for, or is it a case of trying to get out of helping a child in their district? I know that have aides and helpers for these kids costs the district money, but isn't that better for the kid in the long run, rather than have then struggle to keep up with the rest of the class?

Jenn, your son sounds a lot like mine and I've also mentioned the whole cops/jail thing to him in the past. At the time I was thinking that I needed to be totally blunt with him so that it might sink in how serious his actions were becoming. It didn't go over well but I honestly don't think he even remembers me saying it anymore. Don't beat yourself up over it. You sound like a great mom and sometimes it's hard to know what the right thing is to say/do with these kids.
