I think I always try to keep hope alive that maybe "this time" it will work, but then reality sets in and things turn out like your experience. You don't know until you try.....now you know and you can move on.....yep, try to stay in contact with your grandchild, he needs the protection and love......

Oh I think she acceppted your help, but on her terms.
This must be the time for greiving because I too am going through that.
It is good that you and your husband can connect like that. we talk, no tears, then he becomes angry which is not what I need.
