10 y/o boy suspect in fatal stabbing of 12 y/o friend

Boy, 10, suspected of fatally stabbing friend, 12

A neighbor of the younger boy told the newspaper he had emotional issues, and that something as small as tapping him on the shoulder the wrong way or losing at a video game could spark outrage.
the boy usually had verbal outbursts, but he hadn't seen him throwing things or hitting others. He praised the boy's mother, saying she had dealt with her son's problems head-on."

...Hmm. Isn't this something many of us here DREAD? I hope this boy gets the help he so clearly needs...

Horrible. Honestly like they said, I would not think Q would do this. But do I have things locked up in case he has a reaction or a seizure or whatever?? yes! Kitchen knives are common but those stories where people have guns around with a known gfg in the house... well I just dont get that. This is not pro or anti gun... it is the fact that an impulsive or mentally ill or person with poor judgement etc... gfg should not have unsupervised access to weapons.

That child is 10 and his life is ruined. the 12 year old is gone, a wonderful child wiped out. The families will be devastated. Dont you wonder more about the story? Just sad all around.

Meds: Ritalin, Lyrica, Clonidine/Catapres, Benadryl, Lithium-not helping, going off now: Zyprexa...seems good so far

    I do wonder more.

OK, we have a bipolar GFG and a PDD GFG. We have firearms. They ALL have locks - the .22s have bolt locks and the rifle a trigger lock - and the only set of keys are in my purse. The ammo is nowhere near them. They're locked in our bedroom closet. I suppose they could use them as a club, IF they could get to them.

A fork is much easier, and easier to conceal.

But, yeah, the sadness is what got me. The fact that some of us could be that mom...

Yes that story is awful. I feel for the family's.

We were much different than Step with the guns but I think it is because of the way Tony was raised and the way everyone around us is raised. Guns are a way of life here. You dont go in anyone's house and wont see a gun somewhere. Or at least in the people's homes my boys would have been in contact with. We had our guns sitting leaning in the corner of our bedroom the entire time our boys were growing up. The ammo was in the drawer next to it. They learned to shoot by the time they were 6. They also knew they were not allowed to touch them without their father around. For some reason there were certain rules that they simply didnt break. Of course, they did know what a gun did. It killed things. They saw that. It wasnt a toy. We didnt allow toy guns so they werent confused. Of all our problems, guns were never something we had to worry about. And this has moved on into the next generation. As young as 18 months old, Keyana would point to Tony's shotgun in the corner and say "papa gun...bad... me no tuck"

LOL - I did not grow up with firearms... So I was nervous about them until DH taught me to shoot (barely over 2 years ago now). Now? It's all good. But as violent as Onyxx can get - and with all the koi from bio - yeah. They're locked.
