    Danged school trans dept again

On Thursday, they gave the kids their new bus assignments. Jett's bus number changed, but the pickup time was supposed to stay the same - 7:45. School start time changed from 8:15 to 8:45, so this seemed odd to me.

Last night I checked their routing site. Sure enough, 7:45 for pickup. OK.

At 8:00 this morning, I got a phone call from Jett... He'd been outside in the rain & wind for 20 minutes & was soaked. He was worried. I checked the website again and - 8:05. WHAT? I told him to go back out. He was halfway there (pickup is 1 house down) when the bus passed - and hit a puddle - and drenched him. 8:05 I get another call, and he's bawling.

I told him to change clothes, & went and got him. He wanted to know what to do with his wet clothes - I told him to toss them in the laundry room, so his others wouldn't mildew, and they were soggy all down one side.

He made it to school on time - in fact his bus pulled up right after I did. But... You see a kid running toward the bus, you don't stop/wait for them? I can understand that they couldn't control the puddle, but...

Are you going to make a call? Gosh you know our story, I would have ended up with a raging kid who had to stay home to calm down. That is just terrible. Poor Jett.

Great idea Step! Poor Jett. Hope he makes it through the day okay. Personally, for that "traumatic" situation, he deserves something special tonight. Go get 'em Warrior Momma!!!!

I'm thinking REAL mac & cheese for the side with dinner. I taught myself how to make homemade cheese sauce Saturday night...

If that's what Jett would call special, go for it!! There's a reason you learned how to make cheese sauce!!

Well that just hoovers out the yahoo doesn't it?

I was IN that rain this morning, much more than I cared to be, pc and I did our drug store shopping today. Not only was it POURING, that rain was freezing cold, wind just made it worse. I'm still chilled to the bone and I've been home for an hour with the furnace on!

Do the mac and cheese for him. Poor Jett deserves a happy ending to his Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day.

If it's still doing this when Darrin comes home I'm going to be waiting for him at the bus stop, otherwise he'll be soaked to the skin long before he makes it to my house and it's only a 2 block walk from his stop. (pc is taking Connor to the eye doc)

Re: Danged school trans dept again

This is one reason dh drives Ty to the bus. Plus his comes at 6:50 and it is pitch black and a few years back Jess got hit by a car that was turnign around as she walked to the bus in the dark. On days dh can't drive Ty I give him the option to stay home from school. Otherwise he has to call me when he gets tot he stop so I know he wasn't hit by a car and I wait, scared, until he calls. I am not normally a scaredy cat but we live on a road with no street lights and with a lot of idiots who don't like to "use up the battery" so they don't always turn the car lights one. Yes, you read that right. they drive w/o lights on an unlit road to "save the car battery and gas mileage". We know one didn't stop when they hit one of my kids. I don't want them to hit a second one! My kids are NOT targets in a whack-a-mole game played iwth cars!

Poor Jett - go for the homemade mac and cheese!!! If you add a bit of cream cheese with the other cheeses it is extra creamy and good.
