I'm just thinking that even though Tony isn't happy with the Buck situation he may not be willing to set him loose, and then you'll be stuck with him for a long time. Also, even though Buck hasn't paid rent, he may not just be able to be kicked out with an actual eviction (just from something I saw on tv). If he won't go, that is.

It's really true, you can't just leave your own home and family, a lifetime of your stuff, because of Buck. He would love that. Waiting somewhere else for him to leave wouldn't work, he'd never go, plus he'd be into everything of yours. He has a car, a job, it's time to go now especially when the only obstacle early on was his car. Peace and love to you, this really stinks.

Well I am starting to put some of your ideas into play. Sort of a hodgepodge of sorts. Tony comes home so tired after work especially at the beginning of the week because he does all the driving and they are driving 2 hours to work and back plus working 10 hours a day. He also works much harder than Buck because he knows more. I have begun stroking his ego. Last night I was talking about that show Holmes on Homes and Buck started talking about some show PBS and I said something dismissive about PBS and went back to talking to Tony about how I thought Tony was so bright and how I thought he could do what Holmes does but in the commercial trades. Holmes is a residential home inspector basically. I told Tony that I thought we really should look into how he could go about that. I was so sure he could probably CLEP some of the classes. He really is smarter than he thinks he is. Buck just couldnt get a word in edgewise.

Then as we were watching Dancing with the Stars, I cuddled up next to him and we talked about the dances and the costumes. He was tired though halfway through and went to bed so I followed him in. I rubbed lotion onto his joints until he fell asleep.

So last night Buck didnt get a chance to say anything bad about me. He did say something that made him look dumb. We had Chinese take out and he made a comment about Chinese food in general saying something about how it had taken him years to try it and how most of the time when he went to a Chinese buffet he just ate the ice cream because he didnt like the food. Well for most of the time he has been here we get Chinese once a week so he has been getting the same thing Tony gets...lol. I think he was just searching for something to say because there was nothing negative he could insert into the conversation without it looking completely forced.

    Janet...

You ARE on the right track.
How on earth can Tony complain about being treated this way?
And yet... this is relationship building. Which is the foundaton you both need, to move forward.
You need it. He needs it.

And if it leaves Buck feeling like the odd man out? Well... he is. Both odd, AND on his way out.

Re: New Buck thread...other got too long.

Well things went in my direction again tonight too.

They got home from work earlier than normal so I hadnt even started dinner. I had all the ingredients sitting on the counter and Buck sort of looked at them and picked up a bag of egg noodles and said something about how he had had them before. Sometimes I really wonder about the man. Then Tony and he went outside because a neighbor came over to pick up some junk out of our yard to haul it off to the junkyard so I fixed up dinner...tuna casserole. I make mine with those fried onions on top. This is a meal that Tony really likes. It is a relatively cheap, filling and easy meal. I mean no one wants it every day but its a good once a month meal. Well Tony was happy to get it. Buck comes in and looks at it like it is dog food. He puts some on his plate and pours a bunch of hot sauce on it and Tony asks him...so how do you like it? Buck says, well it is different...I have never seen anything like this. I said..what, you mean your mother never made tuna casserole while you were growing up? I cannot imagine a family never having a tuna casserole! Nope...they couldnt afford tuna! So Tony is praising my tuna casserole and Buck is sitting there dumbfounded because he doesnt know what to say. Then he was looking in the fridge and I had a container of tapioca pudding in there and he asked me what it was and I told him...it was tapioca pudding. He says ok...but what is it...ummm..tapioca pudding. How on earth do you explain it any better? Pudding made with tapioca pearls. I told him that I didnt think he would like it because it has little lumps in it that are the pearls and since he wasnt raised on it, he would think it was strange. His family has very set in their way tastes. Everyone except Tony. I would LOVE to make a whole meal of sushi for dinner but I dont have the molds.

Tony did say they have an appt to go look at the boarding house this weekend for buck to move in this weekend. So hopefully the landlord will agree. I think Buck isnt going to be able to keep up this work much longer and when that happens he will just have to leave there and end up going back to SC and figure something out because he has figured out that our healthcare system isnt going to work for him. We dont have the free clinics that give him his meds or his free check ups and free everything they did down there. He had it really good down there and now here he is getting bills and having to pay a bunch of money. Boo hoo.

I am loving these new updates! Btw, I never had tuna casserole growing up, and I have no idea why not, but I don't eat fish and never developed a taste for it. Just sayin.

Re: New Buck thread...other got too long.

    These are good updates.

I never had tuna casserole growing up either. I'm pretty sure my Mom has never made it in all her years. We had tuna salad, though. Although I love fish and seafood........tuna casserole will send me running from the room. The smell and taste of hot tuna are too much. Salmon is the same.

And I wouldn't touch tapioca pudding with a ten foot pole. Mom had it in the house growing up, but it was a fav dessert for her not a single kid would touch.
