Oh, how nice. Discrimination based on test performance?!

I used to do horribly on tests. Yet, I was in the "fun" class for advanced students. So...

I wouldn't mind color coded based on... Whether or not you have a prepaid lunch account! Jeesh.
    Me - 39, situational depression
DH - 42, depression, PTSD... Disabled Vet
Raven - 19M, PC, lives with bio mom
Onyxx - 17F, depression, PTSD, bipolar, stomach issues
    Jett - 13M, ADD/LD/FAS (?!), typical teen with MONSTER sprinkles - UGH
Beanie Baby - due October 2012!

Possum, Squirrel & Bubbles - LOLCats and LOLDog

    Hmmm.... shades of 1984.
Me: Late-in-life mum, works at home, divorced.
Son, J: Adopted at 3 months, now 5 yrs. Hyperactive, possibly learning difficulties. High energy, oppositional and aggressive and also affectionate and sweet. No official diagnosis as yet but the professionals say he is "very probably ADHD". No meds.
Pup: border terrier, model citizen and perfect dog!

Or they could color code based on volunteer hours, kindness, exemplary citizen stuff... sure. Because you can be very limited in capacity and have a heart of gold, and do very well as a "citizen" even if you can't do well in school. And you can do well in school and be a total loser in life... so sure, why not flag THAT trend???

    but school performance?????

    OMW!

It reminds me of a school exercise they did in the middle school which had off put me a bit, but was just fine for son, but I did only get all the info after the fact and my thoughts went out to the struggling kids. It was a week long "real life" experience. The kids were paid based on their grades. Logic being the better your grades, the more money you will make in the future (boy if I had to do that I would have ended up completely delusional) They had to take this money and find a place to live, buy a car, and set monthly budgets. Good exercise, just the cash delivery thing seemed a bit short sighted.
Me: MDD, PMS/PMDD, GAD, OCD, Hoarder Wellbutrin 150 mg And some ppl think I'm an Aspie too.
son: 16 Aspie, Depression, ADD Abilify 5mg
DD1: 11 Mood disorder, Aspie, Hoarder. Welbutrin 150mg
DD2: 9 Emerging mood disorder but she's such a happy sunshiny girl, I'm hoping she won't need meds til after puberty - if ever.

"I don't care what label you put on my child as long as he/she gets the help that they need!"
No meds is better than the wrong meds
