First of all welcome!
I am kinda of new to the whole school BS, as V is only in pre-k.
I completely hear you : you need to really know what is wrong before you can "fix" anything.
I would suggest you post your story in the General parenting forum and tell about your son's issues and health, behavior history.
A lot of pepople with a lot of experience will guide you, just like they did for me.
You need to start looking for a neuro-psych evaluation. It takes time to be seen as the waiting usually is very long, but it will give you a good pictures of your son's strenghts and weaknesses.
Welcome and hang in there. This forum will help you.
