Rasberry chocolate streusal bars

I thought I would share this Recipe with you as it has been a while since I sent one in.

Raspberry Chocolate Streusal Bars


1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour


1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats


1/2 cup granulated sugar


1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)


1 teaspoon baking powder


1/4 teaspoon salt


1 cup (2 sticks) butter/margerine (slightly softened and cut into pieces)


1 cup seedless rasberry jam (red or black, doesn't matter)


1 2/3 cups Dark Chocolate Raspberry Morsels (10 oz. package) (divided-- 1 cup and 2/3 cup)


1/3 cup slivered almonds (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees


Grease 13X9 inch pan


Combine in large bowl :

Flour, sugar, oats, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder and salt.


Add:

Butter and cut in with pastry blender, fork or fingers until crumbly and mixed.


Reserve :

1 1/2 cups of the oat mixture for topping. Press the rest evenly in greased 9X13 pan.


Spread;

Rasberry Jam over the crust


Sprinkle :

1 cup of the morsels evenly over the jam.


Combine and Sprinkle over the top ;

The remaining oat mixture and the remaining morsels (almonds, opt)


Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown around the edges and center is set.


Cool completely on wire rack .


Cut into bars.


Makes 2 1/2 dozen bars.
