This is interesting, could be a good thing to keep kids out of smoking. However it's protecting people from their own stupidity and I don't necessarily agree with that.

Anyone who thinks that smoking a "light" cigarette is somehow not as bad as any other cigarette is....well, I'll just stop cause it's not very nice.
But, seriously. With all the spotlight the tobacco industry has had on it, all the education in school about tobacco (which we didn't get, btw)...people know.
If they want to change how it is marketed to protect the consumer is one thing. But, I haven't seen any cigarette company marketing lights as "less of a health risk".
Maybe we should put warning labels on ground sirloin to let people know that it's really not better for you than ground beef. Sheesh.

I like it here in my world.
And I have a question, what are they gonna call my menthol lights now? Menthol less strong?
I smoke these cigarettes that are called Seneca Menthol Light 120's. I used to smoke a brand that somehow disappeared that was a menthol ultra light 100. really liked them because they were only 10 bucks a carton but of course, anything I really like goes away.

Oh hades!
Why don't they just call it what it is and quit pertying it up for Joe Public?
They're in the process of stripping personal rights. And no one is stopping them.
I knew when I picked up my first cigarette in oh let's see about 1977 that it was BAD for me. I was about 12 or 13 at the time. I knew all the risks. And I didn't care, it didn't stop me......and in nearly 30 years of smoking has still not been enough to get me to kick the habit. Even after a heart attack.
Heather you may not be far off the mark so be careful, you may give them more ideas. And they've got too many as it is.
If anything..........this stupidity stirs up my deep down gfgness. And by darn now I don't want to stop. It's my right to smoke if I want. No one's business but mine.
Good grief.
I smoke "light" cigarettes simply because the other ones burn my throat. A cigarette is a cigarette, anyone who would think one is better than the other is fooling themselves.
Ack! This caught me in a foul mood. Not fussing at anyone here. Just miffed (to put it mildly) at our current govt and the idiotic laws that are getting passed at the moment. And not just this one.
As I told PC this morning...........I think after I get finished with nursing........I may just head up north to canada and settle down. And yeah......that's saying ALOT.![]()
