The psychiatrist said because our son has a conduct disorder (which he diagnosed my son with a couple of years ago), he doesn't believe any sort of therapy, unless internally motivated, will help at all. No drug treatment center will do anything for him either. He said our son is on a collision course to self destruction and the only one who can help him is himself if he ever reaches rock bottom and decides he wants to change. In the meantime, he will only drag us down and possibly do serious damage to us financially, it could be devastating if he hurts someone. He just totaled our car the other day....and his girlfriend was in the car with him. She's only 15. Thank the lord neither of them got hurt. The psychiatrist is absolutely positive that there is nothing we can do to help him. The only thing we can do is protect ourselves from him. This is the most painful thing to accept. It's devastating.
