We all need a safe, soft place to land and if the tone or words are hurtful, judgmental or rude they will influence our community in a negative way. Is that really what we are about? Remember when we post negatively it takes away from the sender and it undermines the receiver. Sometimes it is good to reread a response before posting it. Ask yourself: what is it you hope to achieve with your response? Will it be more about one upmanship or is it sincere in trying to show someone a different direction. Acts of kindness are always appreciated while negative posts are never forgotten by that member.
Everyone is in a different place in this journey. What worked for your family may not be right for another and it's important we all be tolerant when parents make other choices about evaluation and treatment.
Let's remember as a group to use a gentler touch in our responses so we do not turn someone who is in need away. Lurkers who read that sort of mean spirited response will not be willing to come back.
