A metaphor for standing strong

I saw the story on this a long time ago. The cameras and the reporter had to sneak there to inteview the man and he wasn't living in the house anymore. He and his wife were living in a tent on the street. It is sad. There is something similar going on in NJ by the shore. It's been all over the news, here. It's a sad state knowing that the government, even here in the US can force you from your home for re-development.

I know you were using this as a metaphor. I see it, but I don't know if I could fight that much.
