A very good Monday morning, friends.....

:good_morning::coffee:

Coffee is brewing; a load of laundry is already in the washer & Monday begins. Today is my day of no errands - just busy work about the house.

:check_writer:Bills to pay - treatment plans to review (last weeks staffing for wm - tomorrow's staffing for kt). Then it's blessed nap time before kt gets home from school

It looks to be a cloudy day today with melting snow; just one of those messy winter days that makes me wish for new snow because the old is so dirty & nasty looking.

I didn't see but heard robins outside yesterday! That tells me spring isn't too far away. I'm hoping to start some herb plants for my garden along with a couple of tomato plants. husband thinks I'm a little too early but I beg to differ. (You know, just because. Gives me something to do.)

Have a wonderful Monday. May you have warm sunshine, cooperative difficult children & time for yourselves. :queen:

Enjoy your "puddling around" day, Linda. I hope the robins make their presence known for you.

We've got rain here. Lots of it. 48mm today, which is not quite two inches. There was even more rain further in the city, whre I had to go to see my specialist.

More rain tomorrow (storms too, they said) and more appointments. husband is off for the day tomorrow, we're doing some shopping plus his appointment also.

easy child 2/difficult child 2 spun out on the wet road this morning, so BF2's car, so freshly repaired and back on the road, is off the road again. She's not hurt and I don't think the car is too badly damaged. She hit a lot of young she-oak trees, but they didn't have trunks more than an inch thick, and she bent them over rather than broke them. One mirror is dangling and there's a dent in the front fender. Can't see anything more.

She's better learn how to drive in the wet - we're getting a lot more of it. All the rain that has flooded Queensland has been forecast to move down to drench the coastal areas of NSW. Depending on how far inland it goes, this COULD be good news if it fills the dams, but if it's not far enough inland, it's just a blasted nuisance with no drought-breaking benefit.

Today I was so tired when we got to the shops (after seeing the doctor) that I catnapped in the car, in the carpark. I woke after half an hour feeling stifled, as if I was suffocating in my own expired air. So I got out to do my shopping - and found the air outside felt just as close.

The one benefit of rain in summer - you don't have to bother with umbrella or raincoat, getting wet is no big deal. You don't feel cold at all, even if you're soaked to the skin.

Meanwhile our swimsuits and towels hang on the clothesline, looking heavy and sad. I'll have to fetch them in and put them through the spin cycle, then cry them indoors. Otherwise as the ground gets soggy, the weight of the towels will pull the clothesline out of the ground.

At least the garden is getting watered!

Enjoy your Monday.

:coffee2:Good Morning - it's No Meltdown Monday!

I'm needing a little extra coffee this morning. Stayed up and watched the game yesterday, then had to clean up from all the food! Great game :fan:!

Linda, glad you have a day at the house. That's my Monday as well. It's nice to get the week started by getting everything reorganized from the weekekend! Hope you get that nap in .

Marg, glad #2 is ok and there is not much damage to boyfriend's car (especially since it just got road-worthy again). You all really have had a lot of rain lately - hope you can catch a swim soon :water_happy:.

Like Linda, I will spend today at the house (after a quick run to the grocer on the way home from taking difficult child to school this morning). I don't have too much to do, but I know I'll find something to get into!!!

Our weather is going to be crazy this week! We are in the mid 60's today, then tomorrow and wednesday we are at 75 degrees :beach:!!!

difficult child and bonehead had a wonderful trubing trip on saturday :sled:! difficult child actually feel asleep in the car on the way home. He hasn't done that in years! He talked about it all Saturday night! I told bonehead that this is why he needs to do more than just "come by" in the evening and spend 15 minutes with him. The time is almost gone by when he can influence the young man difficult child will become.

Wishing everyone a great Monday - and remember, no meltdowns allowed today :highvoltage:!!

Good Morning,

Linda-A day with no errands sounds like heaven! Enjoy that nap-take an extra long one for me!

Marg-I'm glad easy child/difficult child 2 is o.k. It must have been very scary for her. When you wrote about your sad swimsuit I thought of mine and it made me wish for those summer days!

Sharon-Wow-that is some warm weather headed your way! I'm glad difficult child had such a great time tubing!

It has been frustrating to me that I've been unable to get on the computer much lately. Between it not working well and easy child (and I use that term lightly right now) needing it for homework I'm just not getting on much. Hopefully that will changed as husband has ordered a new lap top just for him and me!

We are in for some interesting weather this week-everything from rain to a winter storm! Oh joy!

After work difficult child has religious ed. class and I'm hoping to get in a visit to the health club!

I hope everyone has a peaceful day!:D

Good morning all.

Linda, Monday is laundry and bills at my house too. Being away for 2 wks makes it a monster pile of both. Hope you get a rest.
I have blossoms on my little cherry tree. I'm worried that a hard freeze will kill them all but it does look sort of spring like around here too.

LDM, hope you had fun from the game celebration. easy child called from NYC after the game. The campus was wild with celebration. He had fun with it.

Marguerite, hope the rain eases your drought. We are hoping to catch up a little more rain but we aren't out of the woods around here yet. I can't imagine sleeping in the car in the heat.
Glad the kids weren't hurt in the spin out.

Wiped out, a private laptop is a luxury I don't want to live without. I hate when even husband borrows it for a second.

difficult child called Friday with a fever and cold. I'm relieved he even calls. In the past, he didn't notice he was sick or didn't think to tell anyone. He is better now fortunately. Hopefully he is going to keep working on being cooperative. As always I hold my breath.

Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning Linda, Marg, Sharon, Sharon, Fran, and anyone else who comes. :)

Linda, I thought I heard Robin's yesterday but then I thought it was wishful thinking. :) Glad to know it wasn't... :)

Marg, I hope you are sleeping soundly right now. :) and that the rain lets up a little.

Sharon, Enjoy your warm weather. Waiting patiently for ours.

Sharon, I would go nuts if I couldn't get on my computer. Hope your new laptop gets here quickly.

Fran, Keeping fingers crossed for difficult child and his cooperativeness. :) I have learned to love each little sign of responsibility with my difficult child as it comes and not to expect it... learned that from you I think. :)

difficult child has been amazing us. He has been getting up and going to work and even when he goes out at night and has to get up early he does it with very little grumbling. Think I will do a thread in PE.

Not much unusual on the agenda today.... but tomorrow I am going to watch the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. :) Haven't done that for a very long time.

Hugs to all

Sharon,

Enjoy the new laptop. I had the same "sharing" issues with our computer. Although mine was difficult child gaming! I got a "private" laptop a little under a year ago. I love it!

Fran, I noticed some daffodil greens popping up yesterday!

Robby, good to "see" you this morning. Glad difficult child is handling his life.

Good morning. :coffee:

Linda- Enjoy your puttering... I love those sort of days.:painter:

Marg- I'm glad easy child 2/difficult child 2 is okay! The important thing for her to remember is to slow down. She can hydroplane if there is a layer of water. Or, if it hasn't rained in several days, a small amount of water can mix with the dirt and oils to make it quite slippery.:surprise:

LDM- I hope you enjoy your quiet day as well. The weather does seem bizarre lately... we may reach 60 tommorow! And that's bad because the 8 inches of snow arround is going to melt really quick!!!!:coldday:

Sharon- The new laptop sounds great! I love using ours with the wireless connection, I can use it anywhere in the house and yard! :geek:

Poor Duckie will be missing her first day of school today due to a nasty little cold. She probably could go, but I don't want her getting the other kids sick. Plus, we can run out to see the Hannah Montana movie during the day when the Dimetapp kicks in. :singer:Then we'll meet up with husband for my birthday dinner, as long as she is feeling up to it.

Have a great day!:liberty:
