With the power of the presence of an advocate who literally has done nothing more than show up at school one time to pick up records, the school has VOLUNTEERED to extend wee difficult child's school day til 2pm, and give him 1:1 sped instruction during the extra 45 minutes he's there.

I have no idea what happened to cause this, nor do I care. But I am happy.

It started today.

I also have not received a single email or phone call from anyone regarding wee difficult child today. I have made a couple of calls, but I have not had to deal with anything incoming. This is a first.

Sometimes an advocate has nothing to do except be there, in order to have an impact.

The fact that you have arranged an advocate means that the school is now on notice that you are well-acquainted with your rights and your child's rights and you won't be mucked around any more.
