I'm back!
The trip went well. The house made it through the winter just fine. Everything was looking pretty good? And then? A WATER PIPE BROKE WHEN WE TURNED THE WATER ON.
Ew.
husband WELDED A NEW PIECE OF COPPER TO THE BROKEN PIPE. Just like a hero in a movie, I swear. (Okay. So James Bond may never have welded a piece of copper piping. Arnold may have been able to just squeeze that sucker back together. But husband is the one who got the water running again at my house.)
The lake was still frozen, with just an area near shore open. Ducks and a pair of loons have been cavorting their hearts out through that small rill of open water ~ beautiful! This morning, the open area had widened, and they were all out there, catching fish after fish.
Temps in the low thirties here last night.
Not so beautiful.
But on the brighter side? Those nighttime temps have meant that husband has to sleep right up next to me.
