Best IEP Meeting EVER!

I am SO HAPPY I could cry!!!!!

OK that sounds awful but, I was part of the best IEP meeting on the planet today... They finally after years of begging agreed to have Pat evaluated for Auditory Processing Disorder... And when we brought up his needing to be able to use wide-ruled paper instead of college-ruled due to his writing issues they said, "oh, we'll just get an AlphaSmart from the technology department for him, we've had them for years and just got some new ones". Wait, what?! We've always been told the DISTRICT didn't have any, before! And they were across the parking lot and up a set of stairs?! GAH!

Better yet - in HS the student becomes part of the IEP process, helps make the decisions. So Pat got to hear all the glowing comments about how awesome he has been doing! From Mom and Dad... And TEACHERS too! All at once!

The IEP team Belle had was... Just about useless... But then, Pat isn't using like she was, so big difference right there. The sole member who was on her team that is on Pat's commented that they were completely different kids and Pat was easy to work with!

I'm loving the Intervention Specialist, too. He talks as much as husband does, but he honestly really cares about Pat...

Oh, and one other thing... 3 teachers all mentioned how Pat is ALWAYS PREPARED FOR CLASS... WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!
