[QUOTE="stampprincess, post: 20287, member: 3473"] hello I used to post a long time ago.. at least a year or so since i last popped in here.. I have a difficult child D who is affected with adhd and odd. we play the medications game as well .. she has been on SEVERAL different cocktails and we seem to have the right mix ( for now) . she is in the first grade and is doing quite well.. she struggles with her reading and her math at times but overall a very good student and behavior is great as well.. I also have 2 sons .. one who I could strangle.. he is 9 going on 16 and driving me up a wall but other than that seems to be OK. my youngest is 4.. just turned four and today was our dreaded checkup with our psychiatrist.. I was dreading this appointment becasue as a mom with a d who has some issues I know that my youngest is not where he should be.. he is bright, fun alert and talks your ear off.. and has a wonderful cuddly personality.. but he shows signs of aspergers. I have read some.. try not to overload myself with too much info at this point until we go to see a specialist.. we have referred to see an Occupational Therapist (OT) for some help in the fine motor department. socially he ignores most kids, and prefers to ONLY play with trucks, cars, trains, tractors.. anything along those lines.. he will lay on the floor and play for hours.. no puzzles, nothing else.. he doesnt dress himself.. wont cant.. not sure which he eats the same thing for breakfast every day... no i lie he switches between 2 options.. and if you dont have that option.. be prepared. it took me 2 years to finally accept my difficult child d diagnosis and i fought medications every step of the way... am i in the denial boat again? thank you for listening.. and giving me a sanity break...
