I've been wanting to read this post for a couple of days, finally got to it...so interesting! I dont have much to add but I will say my sister just bought a used 2010 Kia that is a manual. She was thrilled because that meant her newly licensed daughter could not drive the newer car, LOL. Good thing, that week my niece wrapped the family van around a tree. She is ok but it was her first time driving in a rain storm and she didn't slow her speed enough. The car is repaired and she is paying the deductible. ...off topic .... anyway, I didn't even realize you could just get a nice normal sedan that was a manual but my sister is having a blast with it.
