Diagnosis disappearing

this may have been already discussed. I heard at work this week (I work with MH/MR) that the Diagnosis of Aspergers is going away. I feel this is a government attempt to cut funding. I am just getting some answers with my daughter, and it looks like she may have this, I feel like this may be horrible for her, and all of our children with this diagnosis.

In theory, it has been "rolled into" the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) diagnosis.
They have also added some new ones - I don't remember the exact name, but there is now one for social skills problems.

Just be sure that your dr is on track with-the changes. He or she can re-code anything you need. It's really just jumping through hoops. Don't panic.

It's simply going to be part of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), which it is. It's not going away.
