Well, I was in tears and smiling at the same time reading it, Nancy. It certainly sounds like J has realized where that life was leading, and she's thankful things turned around and thankful for her family. What a wonderful update! I'm thrilled for her and for you.

For a young girl she has quite an ease in her style of writing that makes you WANT to keep reading what happens next. I think she's a natural writer. Not only does her essay show maturity, but for her age it's so well written. I like her perspective in the story too on where she places herself as she's writing this. Very well written great flow. I would enjoy her works as an author.
