I am thinking that any serenity I have found of late (considerable, actually) is from deciding that my son has his life, and I have mine.

So simple. So hard to get.

I feel guilty actually reading what I wrote, like people are going to think I am hard-hearted and do not love my son enough.

So much for feeling cocky.

Actually, I think that may be the definition of "detachment". I love my big brother - never hardly see him, but I love him just the same. I wish I loved my son that way. Instead, he's still making his problems mine half the time.
