[QUOTE="susiestar, post: 659397, member: 1233"] Sensory Processing Disorder (I think this is the Canadian or UK version of Sensory Integration Disorder) Asperger's high functioning autism (High-Functioning Autism (HFA)) early onset bipolar (aka EOPB)/child onset bipolar executive function disorder Indigo Child (NOT a clinical term usually but seems to still be used on other forums esp autism forums) Reactive Attachment Disorder (Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD)) Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) (really should be CDO, at least that is in alphabetical order or ODC which is in reverse alphabetical order - I have spent WAY too much time with Wiz and thank you!) ODD And never forget Alphabet Soup, which is what our kids end up with after seeing multiple doctors. Maybe listing the major types of therapies used to help various disorders would also be helpful? I know that a lot of the therapists we saw would throw out the types of therapies they used rather than to really discuss the diagnosis and the treatment. I had one person tell me that the Wilbarger Technique/method would simply 'fix' Wiz and then our whole family would be normal and never need help again because the technique was somehow going to fix J's ptsd and thank you's sensory issues even though it would not be used on them in her work. We never went back but I did internet research on that and every other treatment name the doctors tossed out. Wilbarger is simply another name for brushing technique, at least that was what I was told. Other therapy types include: CBT - Cognitive Behavior Therapy DBT - Dialectic Behavior Therapy Exposure Therapy EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing I cannot think of more at this time, but I will try to remember all we did. We could also list common medications as I think many parents want to know more about what their kids are supposed to take. The list would be long, but could be helpful. Medications and their types (to the best of my knowledge) Prozac - fluoxetine - SSRI antidepressant Paxil - paroxetine - SSRI antidepressant Lexapro - escitalopram - SSRI antidepressant Celexa - citalopram - SSRI antidepressant Zoloft - sertraline - SSRI antidepressant Luvox - fluvoxamine - SSRI antidepressant Viibryd - vilazidone - SSRI antidepressant Effexor - venlafaxine - SNRI antidepressant Pristiq - desvenlafaxine - SNRI antidepressant Cymbalta - duloxetine - SNRI antidepressant Elavil - amitryptyline - tricyclic antidepressant Remeron Trazodone - tricyclic antidepressant Risperdal - risperidone - antipsychotic Geodon - ziprasidone atypical antipsychotic Abilify Seroquel Zyprexa These are what I can remember right now.
