Good friday morning

Good Morning Everyone:coffee:,

FINALLY - NO rain in the forcast! Temps should be in the 50's with plenty of sunshine:sunny::smiles: If I have time later today, I'm going to take my "favorite sanity saver" for a long walk - We both could use the exercise, lol...

Last night husband and I went out to dinner ALONE:D. It's been way too long since we've been able to do this. For a little while, I almost forgot I have difficult children... Then reality hit hard - We had to pick up difficult child 2 at the library... He wasn't too happy about the change in schedule but he's going to have to get over it. The library is open every Thursday evening. husband and I have officially made Thursday evenings "date night."

One more cup of coffee and then I have to go to PT.

Hope everyone has a good day and a great weekend... SFR

Good Morning,

SFR-I'm glad date night was fun even if difficult child 2 wasn't happy about the change in schedule. I'm glad husband and you are making an official date night:couple: Enjoy the nice weather and I hope you get to take that long walk!

We're suppose to have a sunny day with a high of 50. I've already been to boot camp this morning and have had a great workout. Teacher conventions today and I'm not sure what else is on the agenda. At some point I really should get my lawn mowed.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day:ghost:

SFR, what a great idea to have Thursday be your date night. difficult child's all have to get used to the idea that the whole world doesn't revolve around them 24/7. husband and I always had a date night. Now that we have an empty nest there isn't that much need for one.
I am down in Galveston this week. It was pretty darn hot, humid and very windy but in the last 24hrs, the wind shifted and the non humid, cooler northern wind is blowing. I actually am wearing a sweater. The a/c might even get to be off. : )
My difficult child is having his annual Halloween party with his new program mates. I'm going to dash up there and help set up and deliver my "vampire" cupcakes. I think I had as much fun making them as the young adults will have eating them. I'll head back to the beach tonight.
I want every minute of the calm I can get except for my docile sweet Darcy has turned into Cujo over sand crabs. It will be a relief to walk him in the woods again where he isn't in blood lust zombie state. Sheesh.
WFR, hope you enjoy the sunnier weather and a little exercise.
I'm off to exercise the dogs before leaving home for the day.
Keep a little sunshine in your heart today. Happy Halloween.

Sharon, I missed you.
Are you going to keep doing boot camp all year round? Wonderful. You must go to bed at 7PM. LOL.

G'day for Friday!

SFR, enjoy the sunshine while you have it! We're getting ready for the Melbourne Cup next Tuesday, and apparently Melbourne is about to get a month's rain in two days, or something like that! Which means - forget the Fashions on the Field, wear gumboots!

I had another busy day today - too many of them. First, a conference call for the second staff selection panel at difficult child 3's school. I should have been there in person but they took pity on me... after that, I had to collect easy child 2/difficult child 2 and drive her to a therapist appointment in the city. Meanwhile I took along more paperwork - the applications for staffing panel No 3. Nearly a hundred applications to sort through. I was half-expecting a phone call from panel convenor (panel no 2) because there were still some things needing doing.

easy child 2/difficult child 2's therapist appointment - we were organising some appointments for her, made some calls while we were there. Made another call as we left, trying to sort out her new specialist appointment for her surgery. They said they'd call back. Frustrating - late Friday afternoon by now and we really needed answers.

From there we drove to husband's work, he had some stuff for us to collect for him to bring home. It wasn't time for him to leave, so we headed off into the peak hour traffic, trying to be ahead of the worst of it. It was good to have the time to chat to easy child 2/difficult child 2 along the way. I was remembering the therapist, talking about the need for her to have a psychiatric Special Education support teacher at college, working on her case. He sure got HER number fast!

As we drove home, easy child 2/difficult child 2's mobile phone rang - the specialist's secretary, organising the emergency appointment. Next Saturday morning! Yay! So next week is all mapped out, we finally have the specialist we need for easy child 2/difficult child 2, things will happen now. It will cost extra but we think it will be worth it. This is what private health insurance is for.

I dropped her off at her place then continued on home. Very tired. Got in, got some more paperwork done (emails etc) then catnapped for five minutes before heading to mother in law's with my paperwork. I've got about half of it done. ANd one more thing tonight - some publishing work for my client who I have to see briefly in the morning, before I head off to a meeting where I KNOW I'm going to get elected to committee, and although I don't really want it, I can't really avoid it. I ducked out of it last year and have to do it now.

It feels like each day is a desperate effort to avoid being overloaded with too much to do, and I'm just keeping ahead of it, like a Red Queen's Race. Sunday looks like being quieter than we expected, so I'm going to rest up as far as I can. From Monday on, it will be busy!

Weather is gently warming up here. A little more rain would be welcome, but since I'm too busy to go to the beach I'd like summer to wait just a little bit longer. Another week or two, and I'll have more time. I hope.

Enjoy your Friday.

Fran-husband and I are hoping to continue boot camp all year! We really like the workouts and it's nice to get them out of the way early. Usually I'm asleep between 9 and 10:00. The cupcakes you made sound awesome!

Good morning all!

SFR - Thursday Night Date Night, I love that! We never had a set schedule because it seemed to produce too much pressure for US, but we did always try to have at least one night alone together and that usually worked out better once the girls developed social lives. Glad you enjoyed.

Sharon, we're also supposed to have a nice day here in the 50's - I can take that. Enjoy your day!

Fran, those treats sound delicious. I hope the party is a success. Enjoy going home to your beach.

Marg, I'm looking forward to Sunday for you! Lol - you have a lot going on, remember to rest and breathe.

I am in the office today. difficult child went to drop off her sample at the lab, which was labeled and secured in a bag and rather than just accepting the sample, they wanted her to sign in and wait, which would have made her late for work. So, guess who has the sample now? haha - I will take it over at lunchtime for her.

Tonight will be a quiet night in. I am making a potato leek soup with bacon and I have some nice ciabatta rolls to go with. Think I may grab a movie from Blockbuster for H and me to watch - both girls are out again tonight. I just want to chill out in my comfy pants and cozy up on the couch.

Enjoy the day!
