Good Morning on a Thursday

Fran

Former desparate mom
Good Morning everyone. Seems our rain is clearing out and the heat is on in my part of the world. I'm hoping it isn't as bad as they predict.

husband and I are leaving this AM to drive to Pa. We have some furniture that we are taking to baby brother's. We will spend Friday playing with brother, newly pregnant wife and our sweet almost 2 yr old niece who calls me Fain. I love it. Saturday is husband's family reunion and spending 2 days with husband's parents. They are good folks and I end up enjoying myself. We will fly back on sunday.

difficult child is doing a pet sitting job for me for 4 days and earning some needed income. 3 dogs for 4 days can be a handful. Especially if the heat is as bad as they predict. Not much chance of getting out to walk hard and fast as I usually do. He has proven to be responsible so far so I'll keep my fingers crossed he can handle the two new, young ones and keep the majority of the house still standing.

Hope you all have a pleasant Thursday.

Good morning Fran and all to follow. :coffee:

Fran- Your northbound trip sounds like a lot of fun. Fingers crossed for difficult child and the pups!

I have more housework today... can you tell I've been trying to make the house better, lol? Today is a quick re-clean on the bathroom and some serious work in the kitchen & mudroom. Then, Duckie has her final gymnastics class for the session.

Have a great day! Hi to anyone that snuck in. :salute:

Fran - Have fun with your visit. I love the names those toddlers come up with. The little ones in Diva's life have come up with some interesting ones for her.

Yesterday went well. Diva did call me about 5:30 to ask which radio/t.v. station to tune into to find out more info on tornado warnings in town. The siren did go off. We haven't heard anything more on that.

Today, Diva has a trip to a town one hour away. I hope she gets there early. She has a friend riding with her so I will go into work and hope for the best weather wise for her.

difficult child will be picked up about 9:00 this morning to run errands with a friend of mine. She wants to have him help her watch her 1 year old throughout the morning so hopefully 1 year old will be comfortable with him during the friend's eye appointment. I will be in the waiting room while difficult child watches to help him out if there is a need.

Then bowling tonight for Jr/Adult league.

It will be a good day!

Tired - You snuck in on me. Bound to have a same time friend at this time of the morning. I hope you get lots done with cleaning.

Fran, Enjoy the trip to PA and some quality time with your brother sister in law, neice, and husband's family. It sounds like fun! It's wonderful that difficult child is responsible enough to take care of three dogs while you're gone. It is nice that he is "working" and will earn a "paycheck.":cool_dog:

The rain is headed our way. This morning it is extremely humid, damp and cloudy.:( Hopefully, after the caffeine kicks in, I'll find some motivation to go for a jog. It's just so hard to find that much needed motivation when the weather isn't cooperating.

A friend of difficult child 1's is borrowing her parents truck and helping us move difficult child 1 into his new apartment on Saturday. He hasn't talked to her since she graduated from high school last year. I find it amazing and also sad that phone conversations are becoming obsolete and email, twittering, is now the norm. I guess I'm getting old...

Anyway, as always, I hope everyone has at least one reason to laugh or at least smile today... WFEN:coffee:

TM and Andy, Sorry I missed you - I'm SLOW this morning, lol...

TM, I hope the cleaning goes quickly and as painlessly as possible.

Andy, I've got my fingers crossed that the weather stays calm - Tornado warnings must be so scary!!! It sounds like your difficult child has a big day ahead. I hope it goes well.

Have a great day! WFEN

G'day, folks.

Fran, have a safe trip. I hope the weather is good to you.

TM, it sounds like a fairly routine day for you. I hope it goes smoothly.

Andy, the tornado warning sounds a bit scary. I hope Diva gets there safely, and difficult child's babysitting session is a positive experience for all concerned. It's good for their social skills development to do these things.

WFEN, jogging in the damper weather is a good thing - it's not so hot, and if you're swaeting a lot nobody notices because it just looks like you got wet in the rain. PLus, in summer the rain is usually warm so it cools you off only a little so the exercise session can be very enjoyable.
At least, you can tell yourself that...

I had to go see my doctor AGAIN today. My test results for whooping cough & mycoplasma are negative, but she's ordered more blood tests to be done in a fortnight, to see if the antibodies eventually show up. The symptoms are very much whooping cough...

I also supported difficult child 1 at his appointment with the doctor, to get a referral to his new specialist. difficult child 1 also wants me to go with him to his appointment next week.

Somewhere this afternoon I've lost the silicone nose piece from my glasses. It's most annoying, I now have bare wire next to my nose. I'm very much afraid I've lost it on the road osmewhere on the way back from mother in law's. By morning any rain will have washed it into the drains, I'll have to get a replacement nose piece posted out to me, which means being without it for the weekend. Unless I go out to easy child 2/difficult child 2's dress fitting on Saturday morning.

difficult child 3 has worked well this week, I'm pleased with him. Especially today, since I wasn't able to be home with him. Hopefully tomorrow we'll have a quiet uninterrupted day so we can work on his maths lessons together.

We have a lot to do, I'm thinking of trying something new - getting him to do several lessons at once, like a larger connectedness view of the work...

His Friday afternoon tennis game is cancelled for tomorrow. I'm glad - I'm still not well enough to sit out in the cold with the boys, plus it gives him a little longer to finish his schoolwork. Although I might organise a one-off lesson with the woman who books the next-door court.

We'll see how I'm feeling. At least if I send him to that class, I will know he will be supervised. As the current arrangement with his best friend's mother is, she has SAID she will take the boys but too often I find out afterwards that she never turned up, just sent the boys unsupervised. And they got hassled. I just can't take that sort of chance with difficult child 3.

Oh well, tomorrow is another day. I'm sure I've heard that somewhere...

Enjoy your Thursday.

Hi everyone on Thursday night! busy day running about. Managed to get to specialist and I'm on prednisone (forever) at least till 27th July which s awful. Hopefully I will improve enough to continue with the new challenges I am facing with little cherub.
Police interview did not go well.
She needs a calm environment now to get over it, and I am supposed to be taking her next weekend for the next year.
Wish me luck.

Hope everyone feels well soon, and that rain, tornadoes and snow don't hamper anyone's weekend.

Good Morning,

I had a nice typed out response to everyone and my computer shut off on me-grr! Unfortunately, I don't have time to retype it. I hope everyone enjoys their plans for the day. We're headed to the health club and later difficult child has a meet and greet for his camp next week. We may be in for some bad weather this afternoon.

As always wishing everyone a peaceful day:peaceful:
