I can't believe Monday is here already!! The weekend went by way too fast, at least here at my house!

Another week on - difficult child has an exciting week as he was one of the cadets chosen to escort the mayor of our city during his "state of the city" address tomorrow night. It is taking place at his high school and they chose some of the Airforce ROTC cadets to act as escorts to the mayor and his entourage.

As for me, another busy week at work - first of the month time AND still closing out 2010 employee filings....

Hope your Monday is a good one and all the difficult children understand No Meltdown Monday!

Good Morning Everyone,

Sharon (LDM), It's so nice to hear good news first thing in the morning. You must be so proud of your difficult child!! Make sure he knows that this board "auntie" is very proud of him too!!

husband and I had a very nice weekend. We went out for dinner Saturday night, explored the area some more on Sunday, and checked out a nearby mall. There were some great sales and I ended up buying a pair of boots and a pair shoes at a huge discount. I'm on my third cup of coffee this morning, trying to wake up, and begin the day... Hope everyone's day is a good one... SFR

Sharon, congrats to difficult child, that is quite an honour. Here's hoping the event goes off without a hitch.

SFR, sounds like you had a relaxing weekend. Half your luck.

We've had a very hot day here today. First day of the school year, difficult child 3 worked on finishing a maths worksheet he's had since the end of last year. He wanted me to take him to the mainland to return a faulty toy he bought on Friday, but I wouldn't take him until he'd finished schoolwork for the day. I was prepared to leave early if he finished early, but good on the lad! He had his head down working, he didn't whine about wanting to go early when he hadn't finished. While I waited, I took half an hour to go to the beach for my physiotherapy. I wade in the water against the pull of the current surging back and forth. The surf at this beach is very strong, it can knock you over. Just bracing myself against it gives my hips the workout they need.

The water was the warmest I have felt it this summer - I estimated about 25C (77F) which I confirmed this evening when I checked the weather news. No wonder we're getting so much rain! With the warm currents offshore right now, it's all evaporating and then condensing out to fall on us. The humidity is very high, even on the cloudy days.

A cool change is due through some time in the early hours, but tomorrow will still be 25C they reckon. Today was 34C (94F). A scorcher. At the beach the waves were splashing me, then I would dry in the hot wind even as I waited for the next wave. it was wild surf today, those waves were dumpers. I didn't dare go in for a thorough swim, I was totally alone. Quite a change from Australia Day last Thursday when this beach was packed with picnickers with the bay full of boats sailed over for the excursion.

Tomorrow - we'll see what the weather brings.

Enjoy your Monday.

Sharon, how exciting for difficult child!

I've been very efficient so far this morning...did our taxes and filled out the FAFSA for Miss KT. Have to call the doctor later - I blew my knee out again and it's killing me to walk even with my cane. Not looking forward to this.

Have a marvelous Monday!
