Good morning Thursday

G'day, people.

The sun came out today which was helpful for drying the washing. I had a neuro appointment today. It's always a little weird - the neuro is also a would-be author and uses part of my consult to get my advice on his writing. I do get a full medical consult out of him too, but it is odd. He's a damn good neuro, which makes it worthwhile.

While I was at the doctor, difficult child 3 took himself on the train to his optometrist to get his glasses fixed. He handled it all well, he had the family health fund card to begin part of the payment and then got husband on the phone to pay the rest by credit. He did well, got himself back to the mall near the medical centre to meet up with me. Every little achievement is a positive step.

Tomorrow the same neuro sees easy child 2/difficult child 2 for the first time. We've been through purgatory trying to get a good hand over from the pediatrician to an adult specialist who will prescribe her medications. There shouldn't be a problem, but the shrink I just spent a fortune on, sudden;y won't prescribe a medication that easy child 2/difficult child 2 has been on since she was 10 years old, although she was happy to tell me to give easy child 2/difficult child 2 the leftover medications (dose unknown, expiry date unknown) that sent difficult child 3 psychotic within three days...

I'm hoping the neuro will not require too many consults before prescribing. We've already wasted a lot of time and money. I also need to check up on difficult child 1, see if his medications have arrived yet. Crikey, this is challenging! We'll have to talk the neuro through the process - he's not done this before and doesn't generally endorse ADHD medications for adults, although he can see that in some cases it is necessary. I hope he can see this in easy child 2/difficult child 2 tomorrow. At the very least, if he will maintain the status quo while we investigate...

We've got a busy but interesting weekend coming up. difficult child 1's troupe of medieval warriors are fighting in the local cemetery on Saturday. I suppose if anyone gets killed, they just need to dig a hole and toss them in... I might see if mother in law wants to come along.

Enjoy your Thursday, everyone.

You have a lot on your plate Marg. medication issues can be sooooo frustrating, especially when it's the idiot "professionals" causing the problem. Hope things fall into place soon. Thanks for the vivid "picture" you painted about your weekend plans. It sounds very entertaining. I love your humor.

We have court this morning and I am hoping everything just goes away. If not, I will be one mad mama. As for the rest of the day, we have a little school to do then I am free for the rest of the day to do as I please because difficult child 1 will go playing with friends (unless it really does rain here) and difficult child 2 is working at his volunteer job.

Have a good day everyone.
