Good Morning Wednesday

G'day folks.

I just got back from choir practice - three new members tonight, including two pre-teen girls. So we had to teach just about everything, over again. Still, it's good for people to have a refresher course. I need to find a source of good (easy!) choral music. And the time to go looking through it...

A heck of a busy day today - difficult child 3 had an appointment with the research people at 1 pm. His new History teacher rang this morning (8 am!) and said she'd like to meet with us, so since we were going in to the researchers, I felt we may as well add in the school on the loop. But because of needing to get some work done first, we were late leaving. I was trying to get difficult child 3's completed work bundled up ready to hand in while we were there. We did OK - we had four worksheets to hand in, plus another he had almost finished. But we were so late that by the time we got there, we could only spare half an hour. As it was, we were there longer and were late getting away, making us 20 minutes late for the research team. But it worked out OK. There is one more test difficult child 3 needs to do for them and then we're done. They also gave us the code-breaking envelope which we opened once we got in the car, to discover if the treatment difficult child 3 got was the oxytocin, or the placebo. The researchers aren't allowed to know what it is until after it's all been done, and at this rate that will be maybe another year.

From there we headed back to our district to see mother in law at the hospital. I'd collected a few things for her before we left. I dropped them off plus her walking frame (which I'd put into my car when the ambulance took her away yesterday).

We'd hoped to drop some things off to difficult child 1 but we were running out of time. So we headed home, dropped difficult child 3 at tennis (half an hour late). I could have gone home and then driven back down - I just stayed put in the car and catnapped. If we hadn't been in a hurry to get back for tennis, I would have pulled over and catnapped on the road.

We got home from tennis with an hour for me to go before choir practice. I would have loved to opt out for tonight, but they depend on me. I'm glad I didn't though, the bloke who usually gives me a lift collected me at my door but his wife was driving - he's fresh out of hospital after a hernia repair, but he still insisted on coming to choir. So me saying, "I'm too tired tonight, fellas," would not have been valid.

Tomorrow morning husband & I see our pain specialist. Right afterwards, after I drop husband at the station to head for work, I have to go for a follow-up mammogram (the one I had last week is suspicious). Meanwhile a delivery that mother in law had organised, is due to happen tomorrow. So we're going to have to get difficult child 3 to take his schoolwork down to mother in law's place and wait there. I would have stayed out a bit longer and got some shopping done, but with all this happening it looks like I'll have to hurry home. So once again, I'll have to miss out on meeting up with difficult child 1.

Early night tonight, if possible.

It doesn't help that the weather is hot and humid.

Enjoy your Wednesday.

Good Morning Friends,

Marg-Wow-it's amazing what you fit into a day. I am tired just thinking of all you did. I hope the new mammo shows things are well!

Feeling tired and I shouldn't be. easy child/difficult child and difficult child were both home sick yesterday. It hit me in the middle of the day but I stayed at work. husband wasn't feeling the greatest either so we came home after work and took a very long nap-mine was almost two hours. I felt fine by that time but felt like I wish I could have slept all night.

Ahh but shoveling had to be done. easy child/difficult child was definitely to ill to help with the shoveling and husband's rotator cuff is still bothering him and difficult child would have caused more work than help.

After work today difficult child has a therapist appointment. Afterwards I'm hoping to squeeze in a workout but doubt there will be time. Maybe I'll use the Wii Fit Plus instead:)

Wishing everyone a peaceful day:peaceful:

:snowing: Good Morning! What do you know, it's snowing in central Virginia! We've been getting snow on the average every 3-4 days! Fortunately, we are on the low end of the this one with points north really being hit!

Marg, another busy day for you...what a change! Positive thoughts for tomorrow!

Sharon, I agree with Marg - I think shoveling qualifies as exercise! It's both cardio and weights! Take it easy....

Going to get difficult child to school and then come home and do everything that needs electricty to be accomplished! We are expecting some really strong 50 MPH winds to come in later this morning. I have one more load of laundry to dry, the vac to run....Living in the city, we have hundreds of old trees in the neighborhood and high winds always seem to result in loss of power. Going to keep the gas fireplace on (electric start) just in case! At least we'll have some warmth.....

Stay safe and warm if you are in the path of the Noreaster!

Morning all,

Marg, you have to be exhausted after your day ~ just a couple of errands takes me out.

Sharon, always considered shoveling as exercise. Do you have an ergonomic shovel? I love ours..

Sharon, sorry, dear, you're getting the snow that hit us the past few days. You've always craved some cold & snow in your area & you're getting it big time this year.

We've dug out from our 10" snow storm. Just in time to take Sally to the vet this morning & kt to therapist appointment this afternoon.

Have a good day, friends.

GOOD MORNING

Marge - What a busy day. I miss choir. I was also in an awesome handbell group in my single years.

Wiped Out - Yes, shoveling is excersise. You need to not over do it or those little sick bugs will attack. I hope everyone in your family is feeling better today.

Little Dude's Mom - Always good to prepare for the worst.

Timer - Glad your roads are open.

Last night started out shaky. difficult child was overwhelmed with his homework with only an hour to do it before his Tuesday night activities. He got it done even with wasting time whining about it. Why can my kids not realize the more they temper tantrum the less time they have for anything? I told him I refused to help until he could calm down. I told him he can not think when he is so frustrated and anything I showed him would just bounce off a wall of anger. He would only end up screaming at me because he can not absorb anything in this stage. What should have taken only 15 minutes took an hour! I told him to take his time and if we didn't make it to bowling that was o.k. - we would get to Rifle Club for sure. He finally calmed down enough to get the work done.

The morning had started out shaky as his anxiety was on the rise. The neighbor wanted to know if I could watch her daughter last night but with difficult child's struggles, we handed that task over to Diva. Diva was able to have the girl at her own home so difficult child could get to bed when we got home at 8:30 pm.

We all went to the bowling alley (difficult child, Diva, Diva's boyfriend, and neighbor girl). difficult child did very well with lowest score being in the low 120's and high being mid 160's.

I then took difficult child to the Rifle Club. AWESOME - For prone his scores were 40, 42, 41, 35, 41, 41 and for sitting his scores were 31, 29, 41, 39, 36, 37, 37, 29. Instructors told him that it is very difficult for first time sitters to get 25 so difficult child really impressed them again last night. All of these are out of 50.
I gotta go! Have a great day and find a way to make your kids laugh.
