Good news

Went to visit son and daughter in law today. She talked to her doctor: she is still scheduled for laser procedures to deal with the cervical cancer but they discoverd she does NOT have ovarian cancer after all. Instead, it was some kind of infection, which they are treating. They are calling the cancer society to see if they can get some help with the laser stuff as Medicaid will not pay for her treatments but at least the whole thing sounds better than it did earlier in the week. Thanks to all of you who have been sending good thoughts and prayers. It seems to be working.

Whew! Sounds much much better to deal with. I hope the cancer society can help her.

Keeping them in my prayers.

That is terrific! Must be a huge feeling of relief all around. I hope they can hook her up with the laser treatment at no cost or super low cost. I wish you all had health care like here. We tend to wait a wretchedly long time to find doctors or get into specialists, but it goes faster in cases with a level of "urgency" so to speak. I had successful laser treatment for the same thing along with biopsies and remove of several lesions. I have recently had a bad pap result again after several years have gone by since my treatment. Not a high/scary level of bad cells, enough to do something about it. Due to the fact that I have tied my tubes and will be having no more children it is likely going to be a hysterectomy for me. Simply to ensure I don't have another laser treatment only in a few years to need it again. Mind you another treatment could do the trick and it might never be a problem again. For me since my parts aren't going to be used again, it seems logical to just ensure that I don't have to worry about it down the line. I have complete faith that with it isolated to your daughters cervix that she can be treated with the laser. I'll keep her in my thoughts.

That is good news. The American Cancer Society will help them most likely but there is ALOT of paperwork that needs to be filled out.

I reached out to them when my mother in law was having financial difficulites with her chemo treatments. Luckily, mother in law's insurance came through and she was not responsible for any copay's.

They are a great resource. I wish her luck ! Shelly
