:coffee2: Good Monday Morning All!

I've been up for about an hour. It seems our block lost power - when I looked out there were no lights on my street, but there was power behind me - no storm or anything. I was concerned that we would all oversleep so I just got up. Power came back on about 30 minutes later but by then, I was already up!

Typical Monday here - except it's a September Monday in the 90's :anxious: - gym, laundry, errands, housekeeping........

We had a nice relaxing weekend at the dude's house - I hope you are all well rested and ready to start the week - have a great Monday :peaceful:

Good Morning,

Sharon-I hope you are able to get in a nap with being up so early! I'm glad your power came back! Stay cool cause it sounds like your weather is really hot.:hot:

We have had a lot of rain and a cool couple of days. Today is suppose to be sunny and 64, close to a perfect day at this time of the year. We had a very relaxing weekend as difficult child was at respite the entire weekend until yesterday afternoon.

I needed that relaxing weekend as I head back to work today and it promises to be a difficult one as now the parents know which kids will be moved on Wednesday (I posted on this in wc).

After work I think I'll head to the club as husband is sticking around to go to easy child's open house.

Wishing everyone a day filled with calm, smiling, happy difficult children.:flower:

Hey Sharon, good morning! I read your post over on the wc - I hope this week is less stressful for you and you don't get any parent calls today! Going to the club is a good idea right after work - great stress relief! Have a great Monday.

Good morning all,

Sharon, glad to hear your power returned ~ get that nap in.

Sharon, here's to a less stressful week. Keeping a good thought that work calms down a bit.

We've the rain - not as drastic as many of you have endured. Keeping all of you in my thoughts that are in the path & aftermath of Ike & it's torrential rains & winds.

Busy week ahead ~ I just need to remember a day at a time or I'll become overwhelmed. I'm in a great deal of a pain this morning so I hope getting in my PT exercises will help me feel better. Hoping to get kt off to school & then get into a long hot shower to loosen these muscles & joints, do my PT & all the other junk I'm supposed to do. Keep your fingers crossed.

Have a good day.

Morning all.

Sharon, glad your power came back on. Would have made for a steamy day without it.

WO, I hope things can be worked out in your classroom. I read your post and whoever made these decisions needs to rethink their logic.

Linda, here's to a better day than you've had a morning. Hope that shower works!

I'm sitting here waiting on the clock to move. I found myself showered and ready long before I needed too. I'll make sure difficult child is out the door (got up and dressed and went back to bed) before I head out. No work for me today. My car seat tech certification expired so I'm taking a new one day renewal course instead of the usual 4 day class. :whew: The course will be in the training room of an area fire house so I'm sure that the "view" during lunch and/or breaks should be quite nice! :winks:

Hope everyone gets a good start to the week and Hi to anyone who snuck in on me!

G'day, people.

Sharon/LDM, sorry about the power failure. We used to lose our internet access, if we lost power. husband now has a battery-powered independent power supply for the computer, so I don't have to go into withdrawal with you people!

Sharon/WO, I hope you get the sunny weather you expect.

Linda, I hope you manage your week without getting too stressed or escalating your pain levels.

Mstang, enjoy your course. I hope you get plenty of beefcake to enjoy during your lunch break!

It's been another summery day here today. girlfriend & difficult child 1 turned up mid-morning. difficult child 1 has the day off, and for some reason didn't come home last night. They've been here all day, I invited girlfriend to stay for dinner, plus she has a standing invitation to stay overnight, which i think she is doing.

I had to see another specialist today, about my kidneys. At least THEY are currently behaving themselves! husband is home tomorrow, then on Wednesday difficult child 3 & I have a study day at school, plus I see my GP on the way home. I'm hoping for some answers and maybe some strategies. It's looking more like the neurologist could be right - polymyalgia rheumatica. From everything I read, it sure feels like it. I'm going to call the pain specialist in the morning, get some advice from him about medications.

At least with warmer weather, the pain is easier to manage.

Enjoy your Monday.

Good morning everyone.

LDM, I saw that the winds have really reeked havoc all over. I hope your heat diminishes soon. It's supposed to change drastically tonight in Raleigh.
Enjoy your Monday.

Wiped out, hope the school adm. does the right thing for the kids and for the teachers. You can use a little less stress.

Timer, hope you feel better soon. It's pretty difficult to function with pain.

Mustang, enjoy that view.
Marguerite, glad to hear your kidneys are behaving. I'm sure you are looking forward to summer. I'm looking forward to cooler temps.

Sorry to be around so sparingly. husband, difficult child and I joined mom and brother(and family) for a week of vacation a few hours away. Hard to believe I was at the NC beach while my houses on Galveston were getting slamed. :holymoly:Looks like I will be shoveling out debris in a week or two. Not fun. Keep a good thought for those who lost their livelihood. The island is a sleepy fishing community with a sleepy sort of vacation/retirement industry. Sigh. Keep a good thought for those who lost their lives because they didn't heed the evacuation warnings.

Hope today is a productive day and one free of meltdown. All of you who are near the flooding, stay safe.
