Good Saturday Morning

Good Morning Friends,

This is my morning to sleep in but I am coughing so hard I can't sleep. Good thing I'm not working this morning. We had fun going to dinner and the casino last night but didn't win anything.

Lots of cleaning to do today as we didn't get everything done the other day-we were just too exhausted. At least husband's sister never had to come in the house because we met them for dinner and then drove back to our house and husband drove straight to the casino.

Later this afternoon both sils and nieces are coming over to do an early birthday celebration for difficult child (his b-day isn't until Tuesday). We're just going to order pizza and have a cake.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day:peaceful:

Good morning. :coffee:

I'm hoping for a nice day weather-wise as husband and Duckie are planning to finish draining our pool today so the liner can be replaced tomorrow. I plan on doing yet more laundry and cleaning in Duckie's room, mine & husband's room and the family room.

I bought Duckie a little gift because she was so upset about being bullied by her "friend". It's called The Encyclopedia of Immaturity and it has all sorts of fun things in it like how to say "poop" in several different languages. She had a short play date with some good friends yesterday and was telling them all about it! LOL! She had a blast with it yesterday and can't wait to bring it to school next week.

And husband and Duckie had fun last night making these durable cut-out paper airplanes, they are more like models than anything. It was really sweet watching them together.

Have a great day! :salute:

Good morning Sharon! We must have been posting at the time so I merged the threads. I hope your feeling better today and difficult child has a nice little party!

Good morning everyone.
WO, I'm sorry to hear you are sick again. Your system must be incredibly stressed. You seem to have a lot of colds and sinus/throat issues. You poor thing. Hope you feel better soon.

TM, what a lot of fun things Duckie is getting to do. It's nice to watch them work and grow isn't it?

I woke up early. Of course, it's saturday. If it was Monday I would want to sleep late. I took the two young pups out and had coffee on the patio watching the birds going to the feeder. I already took the two to the woods for a fast walk/slow jog and was home by 7:15. I'm so pleased to get them and me exercised before the heat of the day starts up. It has been brutally hot and not a time to exercise dogs or people.

We decided to get one of those tent/gazebo type things from Lowe's to keep the bugs away. We would love to eat outside but I am being chewed up lately. Hopefully this will last the summer. I am just hoping husband and difficult child don't fall apart putting it together. They don't do the team thing well.

Hope you all have a nice day.

Good morning all,

Sharon (with-o), if I were as sick as you & someone wanted to come & visit I'd let them know they are on their own - enter at their own risk. (I've done it & will do it again if necessary). Hope you have a quiet, restful day.

TM, hope you find some time to play today.

Fran, isn't that always the case on a weekend morning. It would be worse if it were 10 below in the midst of a blizzard though.

"Hi" if you snuck in."

Finally a quiet day in tweedle land. My nieces are coming over this afternoon (I believe) to mow my lawn & help with weeding & such. kt & PCA will be working as well. Groceries are being delivered in a little over an hour.

I'm hoping to get out to visit wm today ~ like to get it done on Saturday for some reason.

I pushed myself way too far this week physically & am feeling the "pain". Too many demands & it seemed no one would take no for an answer. I've already changed next week's schedule.

Have a good one friends.

Wiped - Have a great visit with the family. Hopefully it will be beautiful outside and you can set up a table a chairs outdoors.

Tired - What a great gift for Duckie. Glad she is enjoying it. That was a cool idea.

Fran - The tent/gazebo sounds wonderful.

Timer - Glad you made it through the week and were able to change next week's schedule to be a little easier.

I also got up too early today. Looking forward all week to sleep in and I guess that means 7:45 am today! Oh well! Summerfest downtown today and difficult child wants to take diva puppy to the dog show ($5 entry fee). I can not find a location for it so will have to go downtown early and check at the event center. It is too far for diva puppy to walk so we will drive. I also don't know if I would be able to walk that far, walk around and walk back.

Later difficult child wants to go back downtown for the parade (6:00). He wants to ride bike like the last few years. I am just not sure if my legs will withstand a bike ride this year. If husband or Diva were in town to come rescue me, I may try it but I don't know that they will be. Maybe husband will be home and can bike with us. He can also bike home for the truck if I "break down".

So, what should be another day of cleaning will be another day of running to fun events. difficult child wants me to help with his bedroom so I was thinking I would set him up with washing dishes while I started deep cleaning his room.

Everyone have a great day and find a way to make your kids laugh.

A late touch-base.

husband & I just got in from his annual train club dinner (also my birthday dinner). I wanted to go, but I would have enjoyed it more if I didn't still feel soill. The cough isn't gone but it has eased a bit, maybe because I now have to cough so carefully.

difficult child 3 & I had blood tests today, we'll see the doctor on Tuesday for get the results. husband has started antibiotics for whooping cough.

easy child 2/difficult child 2 visited today to do some more sewing and her washing. We would have got more done if I'd been feeling well enough, but we have got more machine basting done, plus the first dress now has the zipper in place. She'll be able to do more hand-stitching from there over the next week, then come out next Saturday and do more machine sewing. easy child might come down next Saturday for a fitting, so we need to get the zipper in for HER dress on Saturday. Then that will be the bulk of the sewing done, for two of the four dresses. Two more to go, although the last one will be a last-minute rush, we need to leave it until late because that bridesmaid is having a baby soon, she will need as much time as possible to shrink back into bridesmaid stature. The baby will be two months old by the wedding.

Today was even busier, with all t he phone calls and birthday wishes from family. we were just getting ready to visit a dressmaking friend, when the phone would go off. By the time we headed off for the visit, our friend was no longer available to help us.

But it's late and I'm tired now. It's just after midnight here (so it's already Sunday).

I need to get some sleep!

Enjoy your Saturday.
