:pumpkin:Good Morning!

We had some crazy weather here yesterday - it was warm and humid all day and very unusual sustained tornado right at rush hour. We have occasionally had a touchdown, but tornados around here don't hold together for more than a few seconds. But not yesterday!

We had one just rip through the area, not quite staying on the ground the whole time, but hopping up and down. easy child was actually going to work and witnessed one of the touchdowns about 4 blocks from here! Huge trees down blocking the street and on houses, power lines and stop lights down......Miraculously, noone was injured or hurt. My mother in law lives across the street from a small park here in the city and the tornado hopped from where easy child saw it, went up, and then came back down 2 blocks away in front of my mother in law's house. It just kept moving northeast.....
difficult child wanted to see so he and I drove all around the city looking at the damage.

Should be at the office most of the day today - would like to get a Trader Joe's run in at some point.

Wishing everyone a safe and good Thursday :jack:

Good Morning!

Sharon-That does sound like unusual weather by you. How amazing that your easy child actually witnessed it-glad she was safe!! Interestingly enough yesterday easy child/difficult child said she witnessed a small tornado. I'm not sure it was actually a tornado but she said it was a funnel of leaves and things and went right by them at lunch. She said her and some friends were outside because they wanted to check out the high winds. She was absolutely amazed. I hope you get in your visit to Trader Joe's.

The wind here was amazing again yesterday. Lots of tree branches down in our back yard. It also blew off the door of one of my storage things in the backyard. At school there is a windmill outside my classroom and the wind blew most of it apart. At a mall about 2 miles from where I teach part of the roof was blown off. Today is still suppose to be windy but not the type of high winds we had the past two days.

It's a teacher convention day today so things will move at a slower pace. The kids all have off. I might go to school for a bit before heading to the conventions. I do have a therapist appointment scheduled for this morning so I'll fit that in as well. Of course, difficult child is up and wide awake on a day with no school!!

Also, it's husband's birthday today so happy birthday to him:hapBday:

Wishing everyone a peaceful day:witchy:

Sharon - are you in Georgia, too?? If not, we had the same weather yesterday! Need the rain, though.

Today, I am working on me. I started the book, Codependent No More and oh my word!!! I couldn't believe how much this fits me to a T. I am truly codependent in every sense of the word. It was a real eye opener and now that I see my issues, hopefully I can work on changing them.

My husband informed me after I got home yesterday that I had just missed one of difficult child's friends that stopped by........looking for a bottle of very expensive perfume and an mp3 player that difficult child stole. Nice.

Sharon, I heard you all had some really high winds! Happy Birthday to your husband!!!!

PG, I'm in Virginia. Heard the weatherman actually say this morning that the drought we suffered from this spring and summer is over! We have had lots of great ground-soaking rain this fall!

G'day, people. A rush visit tonight.

I can't tell you what the weather was like today (Thursday) because I spent so much of it inside on the phone. Now we have three options in place for easy child 2/difficult child 2 and will know more tomorrow, after we get an expected phone call from another specialist (now the preferred route). I had a lot of calls fielding that, then calls coming in for difficult child 3 for a planned phone lesson (which also meant waiting for a special mail delivery - the necessary lesson sheets) and other calls from the school concerning a phone conference I have to do with them in the morning. I also had to deal with calls and emails to do with a committee I got asked to be on, and which I'm now removing myself from. Then my emails started bouncing again, so I was trying to talk to tech service in there.

About sunset, I managed to get a few minutes in the garden to put in another plant. Then we went down to mother in law's for dinner and I threw together a Spanish omelette, of sorts. Now I have to burn the midnight oil with paperwork for tomorrow's conference call.

Next week will be REALLY busy!

Enjoy your Thursday. Sorry I can't greet you all individually today.

Good Morning Everyone,

Sharon (LDM), What strange weather:surprise:in your area - So glad no one was hurt!!! Hope you make it to Trader Joe's - There isn't one in my area but one of my friend's has one near her and they have so many delicious things... I'm getting hungry just thinking about it, lol...

Sharon (WO), It must have been scary to see the windmill outside your classroom blown apart and to learn that part of the roof at a mall only a couple miles away was destroyed too... Glad you're safe!

PatriotsGirl, Glad you're safe too! We had lots of rain yesterday but not the high winds experienced in other parts of the country. Sorry to hear about your difficult child's latest "adventure."

Today it's still very humid although not quite as warm as it's been the past couple of days. It wasn't supposed to rain this morning but I can hear it hitting against the windows as I'm typing. It's the kind of day I want to crawl back under the covers...

After one more cup of caffeine, I have some more health insurance issues I need to try to resolve - Always so much "fun". I have cleaning to do, laundry that is ready to "walk" on it's own to the washing machine, and I need to get to the market.

I'm starting to find creative ways to get out a bit alone with husband. Tonight I'm dropping difficult child 2 off at the library (he'll work on his senior project) and husband and I are going out to dinner:D.

Hope everyone has a great day! SFR

Marg, Didn't mean to miss you... I'm so glad you have three options in place for easy child 2/difficult child 2 but so sorry you have to go through this!!! Keeping my fingers crossed that the expected call from the specialist brings the news you want to hear... I hope you get a chance to find a bit of time for yourself - You're just way too busy!!!

Sharon (WO), HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR husband!!!
