:cold: This morning is the coldest morning of the season for us at 19 degrees. While it's nowhere near as cold as many of your have been experiencing, it's news here!

Both of the kids had good first days back yesterday. difficult child's 1:1 wasn't there, but they sent a sub and, in difficult child's words, "he was nice".

It's Thursday so it's office day for me. I'll put in about 1/2 day today and then return home to put away laundry and do some other small things around the house.

Wishing all a good Thursday. :salute:

G'day, Sharon and all to follow.

I felt strong enough this morning to do some essential shopping. It was more difficult than I had expected. I got most of it done, but came home to rest. I did take difficult child 3 to the beach this afternoon - the water was a bit too cold this afternoon, probably all the storm activity up and down the coast, so I stayed in the sun for a while. Then the clouds came over and we got a light shower, so we went home.

The rain is expected to set in tomorrow afternoon, for about a week. I sat out in it this afternoon for a while, today was so hot that being out in a downpour in my swimsuit was really refreshing.

Lots of summer fruit still available - I bought another case of mangoes, some bananas, seedless grapes, fresh lychees and plenty of salad vegetables. A local gardener collected some chicken manure from the chook house and has promised some cucumbers in exchange.

easy child 2/difficult child 2 is still not well. She sees the specialist next Wednesday. She still has to get some blood tests done before then, I'll try to arrange an appointment for her tomorrow. Because she refuses to go out in the sun at all, I bought some Vitamin D capsules for her today. It's a worry, walking a tightrope between melanoma and rickets.

I think a quiet day tomorrow would be a really good idea! Now I have a houseful of food, I can plan a few summer meals. Maybe use the rainy days to teach difficult child 3 some new recipes.

Enjoy your Thursday.

Good Morning--

I'm just about to get ready for work, but I thought I'd stop in and say good morning.

It was a good relief to get back to work (the kids needed the routines). Of course, even on the first day back to work I feel stressed...my caseload is just too much this year !!

Well let's see my day...I work full time.. and then I need to take difficult child to speech therapy, then, difficult child 2 to music lessons and then at 7:00 pm difficult child has basketball... Thursday are our busiest day...now somehow I'm also supposed to fit in dinner, homework and showers !! :hammer:

Have a great day !!

Sharon--it's cold here as well...my computer is saying 17 degrees Yikes ! :cold:

Marge the fruit sounds delicious--nothing exciting around our parts.

Good Thursday morning!

Sharon, glad the kids had good first days back at school. We have the same weather you have -- it's definitely cold (for us!). Brrrrr.

Marg, glad you're feeling a little stronger. Hope you get to the bottom of what's going on with easy child 2/difficult child 2.

I have to do a lot of driving today. Because husband is on a business trip to New York, I have to drive J to and from his day treatment program in Virginia (about 20 miles -- 45 minutes in traffic) both this morning and this afternoon. A will put M on her school bus while I'm gone. A doesn't go back to school until Monday -- lucky girl -- so she and I will do some more errands for her Bat Mitzvah on February 9. Five more weeks until the big event!

Hope you have a peaceful day. Hi if you snuck in.

Good Morning Sharon and Marguerite.
Sharon, glad the kids had good days at school. :blizzard: Brrrrr.
No snow but pretty chilly out. I looked like a snow man all bundled up while walking the doggies.

Marguerite, I hope you feel better soon. It seems that those little steps toward regaining strength take forever. Hang in there.

difficult child has started to work the independent living program. I don't get much feedback since he is an adult. He is happy though and very social. Next week there were be some vocational evaluation. I'm prodding them to move along a little quicker. Many of their residents slowly get to the point of living on their own and many never do. We are applying a little more pressure on difficult child. He has 6 months to show he is cooperating and making progress. He doesn't like the pressure but I don't like the tuition. He appears to be higher functioning than average so that's a good thing for difficult child. Big fish, little pond. Feeds right into his feelings of superiority otherwise known as leadership in the N/T crowd. LOL.

Hope you all have a good day. Remember tomorrow is Friday already. :bravo: Helps to get through the week.

I'm heading out to the mac.computer place (called the genius bar.LOL) for some work on the laptop. Lots of errands today.

Good morning friends,

Sharon - enjoy the cold weather. Glad to hear that difficult children 1:1 was nice yesterday.

Marg, my doctor's are pushing the calcium & vitamin D for me here; never thought of rickets. Hmmmm.... Those summer fruits sound wonderful. We're in the midst of many apples, bananas & citrus fruits about here. Traditionally our winter fruits. I'm missing red grapes & melon. Glad you're planning on taking it easy the next couple of days.

jannie, I remember days like those when I was working & dealing with 2 difficult children. It's never pretty. This is a day for a crockpot meal or better yet takeout.

Fran, pictures - we need pictures of you all bundled up walking your pups! Keeping fingers crossed that difficult child performs as expected in this program.

kt is off to school already & I'm enjoying the quiet before husband gets up & ready for his work day.

I had my neuro doctor appointment yesterday & see my gp today for follow up on blood pressure issues due to prednisone. No real exciting differences in MRI yesterday - pretty much status quo. Was hoping for further reduction in the swelling in my brain. Ah well...

Other than doctor's appointment I plan on napping & painting today. Dinner is ready to go in crockpot for the day - laundry is caught up with help & whining from kt.

Enjoy your day friends. I hope your difficult children have a good day & are cooperative & that you find many reasons to smile.

Good Morning Everyone :coffee:,

Sharon, I'm glad your kids did well on their first day back to school after vacation.

Marg, I hope you and easy child 2/difficult child 2 are feeling better ASAP!!! How about sending some of those fresh fruits and veggies to us? At this time of year, it is difficult to get really good fresh produce. I think this is what I dislike the most about the winter...

Jannie, You definitely have a BUSY day today!!! On days like the one you're just starting, I usually give my kids sandwiches or pasta for dinner. I hope everything goes smoothly and tomorrow is an easier day for you.

Sharon, It sounds like you have a busy day too. I hope you and A enjoy some quality time together while getting ready to celebrate her Bat Mitzvah. February 9th will be here before you know it!!!

Fran, I'm glad difficult child is happy in the independent living program. I hope this is just what he needs to finally be successful and happy on his own. I've got my fingers crossed!!!

Yesterday was a difficult first day back to school for my difficult children. They were both explosive when they got home. Needless to say, I'm glad that today is here and hope things are calmer this afternoon!!!

As always, I hope everyone has at least one reason to laugh or at least smile today. :flower: WFEN :blizzard: :cold:

Good morning. :coffee:
LDM- Glad difficult child adjusted to the substitute 1:1. :its_all_good:
Marg- Enjoy the rainy weather. :flower:
Jannie- I don't know how you do it!
Smallworld- Sounds like another busy day for you. :treadmill:
Fran- I hope difficult child picks up the training quickly. :warrior:
Linda- I'm sorry the MRI didn't show further reduction in swelling.
WFEN- Fingers crossed that this afternoon goes better.
I've been under the weather for a few days: mild cold symptoms, headache and joint pain. My cousin (the RN) thinks I may have Fifths because I was really flushed back around Christmas. Guess I'll be going to the doctor if the joint pain doesn't resolve soon. :nurse:
Duckie is being a pita, too many annoying things to mention here. It's hard to live with a "glass half empty" type of person, especially when her glass is overflowing. :hammer:
Have a great day! :thumb:

Good Morning All,

I had a really long reply typed out and lost it! First time that has happened to me :frown: Now difficult child is up and pressuring me to get up so no time to respond individually again.

It's cold here this morning but the warm-up is supposed to start! husband and I had a nice dinner out last night-easy child babysat after difficult child was asleep.

In a bit I have to take difficult child to After School and then I'm going to the health club. Later I'm supposed to go see Sweeney Todd but I'm not sure I'm going to go. Of course, this afternoon a nap is going to happen and I have a therapist appointment as well.

I hope everyone has a peaceful day and stays warm. :cold:

Good Morning Everyone, too cold here. News said last night coldest it's been here for 5 years. It was 32 at 8 pm last night. Right now it's 27. Sitting here at puter desk with heating pad under feet! I know it's nothing compared to what you guys are having up north. At least here by Sat. I think they said it suppose to be back up into the 70's.

Had an appointment with hospice counselor today - called to reschedule, shouldn't have but just not up to it today.

difficult child went to work with dad, easy child still sleeping.

Woke up during the night with pain in my hand. I have a wrist band on now. I know I have been on puter lots but not enough to cause this I don't think. Took a couple of ibuprofen. It's easing up some.

Hope you all have a great day and try to stay warm~~~~~~

Good morning everyone.

Put me in with the cold morning people. It was -2 this morning when I was helping the kids get ready for the bus  I'm glad they're back to school today though (yesterday was a snow day). difficult child only goes half days for now but we're hoping to get her changed back to full days by the end of the month.
Have a good one everyone.
