:good_morning:

Friday is almost here (thank goodness)! Work today but not the usual. I will be attending an all day meeting with my team to discuss math. After work I'll head straight to the health club. The past two nights, once I was home, I was too tired to force myself out again.

Our field trip yesterday went really well. The kids, even the difficult children, were all wonderfully behaved! I was able to break our class into three groups so most of the difficult children were not together. The weather was perfect and the kids loved learning in a hands on way about how the maple syrup process.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day:flower:

Good morning All! Hope everyone has a nice calm day! I have been very busy with difficult child 3
and have not been able to post much. This includes an ER visit. She is better now and on new medications. I will change the signature as soon as I get a chance.

Sharon - Glad the field trip went well!

Good Morning all.:easter_eggs: Isn't the promise of spring so hopeful?
We had a glorious weather day yesterday. I think it will get cold again this weekend but we know beautiful weather is coming.

Wiped out, it's wonderful to hear that you had a good field trip day. Sounds wonderful. Sorry to say this but I can't imagine anything more torture like than sitting around discussing math for an entire day. Best of luck.

Rabbitt, sorry to hear that things haven't been good.

I'm afraid to jinx it but difficult child has been acting better, more mainstream, more cooperative. Not sure what it is but I'll take it as long as I can. He has been an enormous help for a sustained amount of time. More than 2 hrs LOL. Even is giving me some insight into himself. It's a big change. I see flashes of progress and it's hopeful.

I am going to a girl's night out tonight. I need it. I don't get out nearly enough with girls.
Hope your day has a light hearted moment or two.

:good_morning:Good Thursday Morning!

Sharon, glad the little field trip went well - I love when teachers/schools teach the kids with hands on stuff! difficult child loves science and he has been blessed the last two years to have science teachers who do tons of hands on and experiments!

Rabbit, glad to hear difficult child 3 is doing better. Hope you have an uneventful day!

Morning Fran, good to hear from you this morning. Yes, the weather is lovely and full of promise! The mornings are chilly still. I went to pick up difficult child from school yesterday and had the windows open in the car. I thought to myself, "wow, it's warm". Then I realized I still had the heat on from that morning! Glad to hear things are smoothing for difficult child!!!

I've not been posting too much but I've been reading. Typing seems to aggrivate my pinched nerve. I'm very, very frustrated with this pain. This is the first time I have been "layed low" by any type of injury. I know, I've been blessed in my 49 years.

I can't lift anything on the left side and every time I think it's doing better, something else aggrivates it! I took a break from the gym yesterday and will do the same today. Tomorrow when easy child teaches in the morning I will probably just do some water walking/jogging in a lap lane. It seems even strong arm motion hurts it.

I have decided to call the physical therapist on Monday if there is not significant improvement by Sunday afternoon.

The kids and I leave for our cruise in 2.5 weeks - I don't want to be in pain!!!!

Today is office and a Costco run for the big cousin weekend coming up! Hope your day is stressfree and productive! ;)

Good morning friends,

Sharon (with-o), at least there's a break in the routine at work. Those were the days I came back refreshed to the grind of the everyday. Glad to hear the field trip was a success.

Rabbit, glad to hear difficult child 3 is a bit more stable ~ looking forward to the updated signature.

Fran, maybe it's spring for difficult child as well. I'm glad to hear that he's making more positive decisions & such. Enjoy the night out!

"Hi" if you snuck in.

Lots going on around here yesterday; the highlight being a diagnostic assessment done for kt here at home.

I have PT coming in this morning; I thought I was to see GP ~ turns out I wrote down the wrong day on the calendar. Something is supposed to be happening today but I cannot remember what. Once I get "that" phone call I will know. :whiteflag:

Have a good day all ~ enjoy the spring weather.

G'day, people.

Sharon/WO, I hope you get to the health club as you planned. I'm glad the excursion went well. Watching how maple syrup is made - I'd love to see it.

Rabbit, good to see you this morning. I hope the new medications work well for difficult child 3.

Fran, I'm glad difficult child has been doing better. Enjoy the good stuff! I hope your girls night out is fun.

Sharon/LDM, sorry your pinched nerve is still hurting. It can really get you down, this sort of thing. Don't leave it too long.

Linda, I hope you work out what appointment you have. Sounds a bit like a Mystery Flight, only it's the medical version. Hmm... maybe not so exciting after all.

I've had a very busy day. I had to get right into the heart of Sydney to difficult child 3's school, for a meeting. Long story, the school are using me as an unpaid 'consultant' sort of thing. Schools do this sort of thing in all areas, I was asked if I'd do this to help the school. trouble is, I'm getting asked a lot because they haven't got anyone else at the moment. Anyway, I DID agree... but to get there on time, I had to leave home before sunrise. It WAS a pretty sunrise, we were driving through the bush at the time, as the sun was climbing out of the sea...

I dropped husband at work and then headed for the school, got there with about 20 minutes to spare. We spent all the morning and half the afternoon locked in a meeting, making phone calls, during breaks I ducked outside and talked to a couple of other teachers about various things. Someone had ordered morning tea and lunch for us, which meant we could keep working through. It was all mental, not physical, but still a long day. We finally finished not long before the end of the school day, which gave me enough time to head homewards and finish other errands.

It's a long way, but coming home at the beginning of peak hour wasn't too bad. I got past the worst of it before I got to the garden centre and bought a lot of seedlings and herbs, all on special. I have some gardening to do tomorrow! Then a little further on I stopped at the mall to do a little more grocery shopping for Saturday, when easy child 2/difficult child 2 and BF2 are coming to dinner, as well as to do washing. They actually gave me their washing which I'm doing for them tonight along with ours, because tomorrow morning I get help with housework including hanging out the washing.

I'm also getting a scheduled phone call from the school in the morning (more consultancy stuff) then after lunch difficult child 3 & I have to leave to head back into the city for a therapist appointment. If we can leave early enough, I have a little more shopping to do along the way. If I have the time, and the energy.

One consolation to all this - I am going to enjoy playing with the plants and filling my currently empty vegetable bed with an autumn/winter crop, it helps me feel productive and earth-mother. Any shopping I do will be to re-stock some vital but specialised ingredients currently depleted in our freezer, ones which help me magically produce fast, tasty gourmet meals in a flash, apparently from nothing. More earth mother stuff.

So if I end up even more tired tomorrow afternoon - it will be in a good cause.

However, I'm hoping to get some sleep tonight. it would be a nice change!

Enjoy your Thursday.

GOOD MORNING

Wiped Out - What a wonderful field trip. And a whole day of math? I am there. I love math!

Rabbit - Glad difficult child 3 is doing better.

Fran - Way To Go difficult child!

Little Dude's Mom - Hope that pain is gone soon.

Timer - Know what you mean about those mixed up schedules. It is stressful until you figure them out.

Marg - You are keeping up your normal fast pace busy schedule.

I have booked us room for my neice's wedding this Summer. I am now looking at rooms in Duluth, MN in conjunction with the wedding trip. I want to book 3 nights in Duluth. husband thinks that is too much time. I try to tell him it is 2 full days. We travel the first day, sightsee 2 full days, and travel to the wedding town the fourth day. The Gold Points Program is not helping at all. He has 49,504 points so we should get a free room but the hotel gets to decide how many free rooms each night and which ones. The wedding town only has single smoking available - no thank you! We have four people coming and can not handle the remains of smoke smells (we are all very sensitive and even if they desmoke the room, they never do a good enough job). I need to look in Duluth to see if those hotels are more accomodating with these free rooms.

difficult child did not want to go back to school after therapist appointment yesterday. It was for only one hour. Once there, he really enjoyed himself. We had the open book science test last night which was a disaster but he finally settled down and worked it out. Answers are not spelled out in the chapter so makes it impossible for me who hates science to help him with - I can't pronounce the words let alone understand the meanings and processes. I would hear him mumble, "Why can't someone just write out ................ How hard would that have been?" (Now we all know why I would be unable to homeschool - can't do science!)

difficult child seems fine this morning but then it is not time to leave yet!

Everyone have a great day and find a way to make your kids laugh!

Sharon, maple syrup?
Neat.

Rabbit, I'm glad the new medications are working. An ER visit, too? Are they part of the same thing? I will watch for your post.

Fran, we must have the same weather patterns. Yesterday it was foggy and then cleared up and turned beautiful for the rest of the day. Today is also gorgeous. I love spring! I almost placed an online order for $50 worth of hyacinths but, sigh, we have to save money. :(
I'm glad your difficult child is showing insight and doing better. Fingers crossed!

Oh, Marg, the thought of working in the garden (playing in the dirt :) ) after those long mtngs would be the only thing that would save my sanity. You're a saint!

Andy, LOL about science! Glad your difficult child finally transitioned and enjoyed the last part of school.
Be sure to save time to visit the Congdon Mansion when you're in Duluth. We did the tour and it was fascinating.

difficult child seems to be having a Prozac reaction. Same as the Zoloft--blk spots in front of his eyes, lethargic, headache, very hot. :( He's home.

Have a great day, everyone.
