Good Morning Friends,

This is one of those days when I wish I could sleep til noon. We made it to the club last night, the only bad thing about that is I couldn't get to sleep until late because it gave me extra energy. I'm sure once I get going this morning I'll be fine!

After work today something fun for me. I've decided I want to start wearing a bit of make-up and a friend and I are going to go shopping. She is going to help me pick some out. We may even go out for dinner while we're at it.

Later tonight husband and I might hit the health club but I could also see taking a night off so we'll see.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day:peaceful:

Good morning all,

Sharon, makeup always makes one feel pretty ~ I've actually started wearing makeup on a semi regular basis. Just for me. Hit a store that offers makeovers & gives samples. Follow that lead when you hit the makeup counter elsewhere.

I can't believe that I'm up & moving this morning. My new bedroom set, my bed specifically has really helped me set a sleep pattern. The only thing is that I may need a set of bed steps ~ I didn't know just how thick mattresses & bedsprings have become. I can barely make it on & off my bed.

My bathroom should be complete today! I can take a shower tonight. I'd offer to take pictures but I'm sure the mods would take issue of pictures of me taking a shower. ;)

Have a good day friends.

Good morning everyone!

Sharon--I hope you have fun trying out new makeup. A lot of the stores do offer makeovers and advice.

Linda--I'm so glad to hear that your new bedroom is allowing you to form better sleep patterns, resulting in more energy. Enjoy your new bathroom

Today, I have a full deck. Meetings, meetings and then more meetings. And with luck, I will find some time in all of that to get some work done. I am fortunate in that I have a great team at work, so being trapped in a boardroom with various groups of them all day won't be terrible. And since I usually bring the snacks, I know that there will be something on offer that I like.

Once work is done, I plan to come home, put my feet up and do nothing. Slowing down has been a real experience for me. I'm used to being on the go until I finally fall into bed. I'm starting to like the more relaxed pace, rather than feeling antsy all the time that I'm not getting stuff done.

Hope everyone has a great day.

G'day, people.

Sharon/WO, woo-hoo! Makeup! Good on your friend for helping you. Just don't go overboard or buy all the expensive stuff. The trick is, do eye make-up at home always, before anything else. The rest you can do in the car on the road! And any dropped bits of eye-shadow or eyeliner can be more easily cleaned up off unmade-up skin, than if you do your eyes last.

Linda, I hear you on the thicker mattresses these days. We were given a mattress and timber base, we were going to give it to difficult child 1 & daughter in law but tfey felt it would be too low to the ground. But when it was assembled, it was quite high. It's all in the mattress thickness!

Trinity, I hope you get through today and win your way through to your quiet rest at the end.

Winter is here, weather-wise. Today was cold, at times rainy. I know it's winter when my feet ache unless I encase them in sheepskin ugg boots. But it's not yet TOO wintry, because I can still wear the OLD uggs, the ones with holes in the toe and the split soles.

We had difficult child 1 & easy child 2/difficult child 2 visiting today. difficult child 1 is working well on the insurance problems, we got a letter today from his former specialist (pediatrician) with his (long-term, detailed, pessimistic) medical history, explaining why he is so unemployable. The insurance company needed to know that he's not just a slacker, he really can't get work easily, he's not going to be in a position to earn a fast $80,000 any time soon.

easy child 2/difficult child 2 is a worry at the moment - we suspectedshe's been drinking too much. Not that she is an alcoholic, I am fairly sure - but a small girl her size should NOT be drinking 12 standard drinks on her nights out! She told me she's cut back, she "only had four glasses of champagne at the wedding, hardly anything" and I pointed out that 4 glasses would still put her over the legal limit. It would put ME over the legal limit, I'm almost twice her body weight! From the symptoms she describes, I have tentatively diagnosed liver problems, she needs to get back to see her GP ASAP. I'm going to get BF2 to nag her. I believe her liver is enlarged, inflamed and probably developing scar tissue. Hopefully not, on the scarring.
I think I know the buttons to push - she has already bought her wedding dress, at huge cost. That dress will have to be altered, if she begins to gain weight. And a damaged liver is less able to help you stay slim. Plus she hates feeling sick and in pain.

At least she already has her own gastroenterologist.

This afternoon we saw our GP - not easy child 2/difficult child 2, unfortunately. Me, mother in law & difficult child 3. The doctor has tested difficult child 3 for possible pertussis, he's had this cough for over three weeks now and it's moved into a serious phase where he coughs until he gags, then has trouble breathing, sounds like he's choking. He WAS immunised, but is overdue for his most recent shots. He had blood tests this afternoon, I used the last emla patch but difficult child 3 now says he thinks he will manage without it next time. I hope so.

Then some brief shopping, then difficult child 3's drama class.

husband was driving again today, so despite being busy I'm not too tired. A good thing - I might have to go out again tomorrow to do some urgent grocery shopping. If I do, I'll use the opportunity to do my fasting blood tests the specialist ordered.

Meanwhile, difficult child 3 has a week-long maths test to work on. And I have a meeting tomorrow night.

Enjoy your Tuesday.

Sharon (WO), I'm glad you have a fun evening planned. I definitely think you should go out for dinner as well as shopping for make-up.

Linda, I bet your new bedroom set is beautiful. I'm glad you're able to get a better night's sleep in your new bed. I'm also happy your bathroom will be completed today. Take a nice hot, long shower this evening!!!

Trinity, I hope your day full of meetings goes quickly. I'm happy you're slowing down at home now. I think lots of R & R is just what you need!!!

Yesterday's meeting was a total waste of time just like I thought it would be. Unfortunately, it dragged on and on and on, etc... It lasted about an hour and a half:(. Anyway, I thought I had a day off from the school until I picked up difficult child 2 yesterday afternoon. On the ride home, he told me what has been going on since January in one of his classes. He is being bullied almost daily.::sad-very: husband and I had absolutely no idea. difficult child 2 said he didn't think it was bad enough to mention. I am going to the SPED's office this morning. Not only do I want to speak to her, but also, I have a letter to give her. I ALWAYS keep a paper trail. A copy of the letter has already been forwarded to difficult child 2's attorney. Never a dull moment...

It is a damp, rainy day here. I really need to go for a jog. Unfortunately it won't be today. The forcast for tomorrow is better but I have too much on my agenda to find the time. As of right now, maybe I can get a quick jog in on Thursday and Friday if the weather cooperates...

Tonight is pasta night. I love pasta night!!! Quick and easy!!! I'm hoping to be able to watch the rest of an HBO special on alzheimer's (can't spell!!!).

As always, I hope everyone has at least one reason to laugh or at least smile today... WFEN

Marg,

I am slow typing this morning - Didn't mean to miss you. I can understand your concern regarding easy child 2/difficult child 2's drinking. Hopefully, as you said, fitting into her wedding dress and not wanting to be in pain will be enough of an incentive to cut back. I've got my fingers crossed... I hope difficult child 3 feels better ASAP. It's nice that husband was driving and your not as tired as usual. Still, you are so BUSY!!! I get tired just reading about everything you're doing. I hope you find time to rest and do something just for yourself!!! Have a good day. WFEN

GOOD MORNING

Wiped Out - Make up can be fun. I used to love choosing the colors for eyes, lips, ect. I haven't worn it much since diva was born.

Timer - You are so funny! I think you may be right in the picture theory. Not everyone would understand what is going on there. Maybe pictures without people in them? I love how you have described your house as becoming healthier in other posts. It is a statement that is helping me to get going on mine.

Trinity - I am glad you are finding peaceful moments. Get into a good habit now cause when those newest angels arrive it will be hard to come by again.

Marg - I hope easy child 2/difficult child 2 can see what is happening to her health and make the healthy choices needed to feel better again. Good luck to difficult child 3 on math this week.

Wishing - You sound so busy today. I hope you can get more info on what is going on at school. Wish kids could speak up before the damage is done in that bullying arena. Those bullies sure know how to tear people apart.

I have two meetings tonight plus a party to go to. PTL which we need to figure out serving cake and punch on Sunday. I am not suppose to have to but it seems the only active people are teachers and 6th grade parents this year. The other active parent pretty much did the ice cream social last Tuesday so I don't want to burden her with this (plus, I don't think she goes to our church). We may ask the 4th grade parents to assist the only 5th grade parent we have since it is traditional for 5th grade class to serve 6th grade graduation. At least the cake is ordered.

Vacation Bible School is the second meeting I have. I think I am suppose to order one of the crafts but forgot and am not sure were the catalog is. I will do that tonight if it is my job.

The third is a party at a friend's home. She said I can bring difficult child. However, I don't think we will make that. It is out in the country and may be too late once VBS meeting is over.

I deep cleaned most of the main bathroom last night. Just need to clean the tub and wash the floor which shouldn't take too long.

I would like to have a cookout here if people come up for difficult child's 6th grade graduation. His dad will be giving out the diplomas making it extra special for difficult child.

Everyone have a great day and find a way to make your kids laugh.

Wiped out,

Have fun shopping for makeup. It's a nice way to treat yourself without spending a fortune -- as long as you don't get a salesperson who tries to sell you the million-dollar skin care regime! :D

I always wear makeup -- the kind where you spend 20 minutes putting on all the products that will make you look "natural." LOL. It makes me look like I'm pulled-together even when I don't feel that way!

So after I get my makeup on, I'm going to go treat myself to a cafe au lait and try to recover from yet another bad morning with angry difficult child. I've already been called an idiot and a freak, and I'm about to sweep up the bagel crumbs he intentionally dumped on the floor while shouting in my face. I feel exhausted before I even get started.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.
